I rejoined this gym 8 weeks ago. Have used it on and off over the years. Myself and a work colleague decided it was time to start to get into shape. We used the gym for a week then thought we'd ask for a gym indication as on the app none available after school hours which we needed ( as work in a school) we spoke to a gentleman on the reception desk , and he said he would pass our details onto the lady who does it. She emailed me the next day and advised she could fit us both in thr next day. Her name is Lisa, she showed us around the gym and was very thorough and polite and very helpful. During the October half term, I managed to try out some day classes and daytime swimming and aqua aerobics. All of the instructors were so helpful as it was our first time, classes were great fun and made us ache the next day. We one day saw lisa , and asked if she'd could show us how to use some.different machine, and she did, again she was brilliant. The staff there are always polite , say hello, day goodbye and make general chit chat. Always feel welcome , even on the days I feel nervous about doing a new class I know ill be fine as they are all very polite. Hopefully in a year ill be a fitter and healthier person. And I know I will be thanks to the support off the staff here. Thankyou :-)

The lighting could be improved — the overhead lights shine directly into your eyes, which can be quite distracting while playing. Additionally, out of the four courts available, only two are usually accessible for badminton.

Positives first. The very small amount of staff we did see, were lovely. The pool was ok, but we booked a family fun swim which stated plenty of toys available, but we found these had to be asked for, and 3 balls were bought out, nothing else. I expect with so few staff, they can't get too much out because of time having to be spent clearing it back up. The negatives - the changing rooms (female) were so dirty. The no shoe rule is not mentioned when you arrive and it's certainly not.followed by anyone. The ladies changing rooms also seemed to be the only available female toilet in the building, where as there is a stand alone male toilet by the hall. Meaning more shoes being worn through the changing rooms. The floors were visibly dirty, nobody was in and out cleaning like you see at other Better Centres. After our swim we found there was dog poo from someone's shoe on the floor near the lockers, which i alerted staff to and the lad i spoke to was lovely and was apologetic, and said he'd tell his manager but that there were no female staff to enter the changing room and in the 40+ mins we spent in the changing rooms, it was not cleaned nor was a warning sign put up to allow people to avoid that spot at least. Nobody even came to look at it. It's my understanding you are able as staff to enter the changing rooms if you announce yourself, and wait for response. In the group changing area there was blood stained boogers (yes, really!) dried on the wall on the right side as you walk in. Unbelievable really. Really disappointing, with the right amount of staff and standards of cleanliness this place could be an asset but it's not being cared for. On leaving there was nobody at the welcome desk and I should think that if that's a regular thing, anyone can walk in there which isn't safe in today's society. I'm sorry to leave a bad review to be honest. But needs must. Do Better.

Ever since coming back to my local gym I was really happy to be back on the equipment especially the machine ones that i really like plus it wasn’t too busy so I’m happy about that. My carer even said to me how proud she was after we came out in the lovely fresh air

Nice friendly community pool and gym being upgraded gradually a bit at a time it seems without closing, so some areas still in need of a lick of paint while others are already done.

Good facilities. Parking is not ideal and when we were last there we found broken glass in some of the bays too.

The place was ok, I am not too keen on the older receptionist lady that rolled her eyes at us as me and my children stood waiting for her to open the gate to let us in for karate lessons - this was done out of pure discrimination by the way as the next family that were coming through got the biggest smile from her! I would avoid it at all cost especially if you are a coloured human!

Really friendly helpful staff, clean changing rooms and a lovely pool. A little surprise was that it doesn't have a deep end seems to be same level across pool. Shame they're aren't more swim session times available and longer swim times of more than an hour as would love to go more often and for longer. Parking available outside is a nice bonus especially for those of us who are disabled or have poor mobility. Could do with a poster explaining how the lockers work as they have keypads but no clue as to how to work them.
