A nice holiday for everyone with two Steam train rides as well as two boats rides plus free time in Torquay Devon which was good
We took the Highland Adventure tour as it was a nice duration to see if we enjoyed this kind of holiday. We certainly did and we certainly will be booking another - maybe longer - trip in future. Our tour guide, Simon, was superb. So friendly and welcoming and he quickly became a fellow travelling companion for us. The tour was well organised and really took the stress out of getting to places and planning our time. The rest of the group were all lovely and a pleasure to travel with. It was a truly memorable holiday and has really given us the bug for it!
Have recently done the Bavarian Roamer based in Munich. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in with this company. I have complained about it and have waited in excess of thirty days for any response from the company except to say they are investigating it following my complaint and feedback from other clients. My first bad experience with Railtrail after having been on many holidays with them over the years. Beware of this one unless they change the hotel in Munich!
Rushed around, abandoned in Cologne, unable to fully experience one of the railways a highlight of the trip due to late arrival caused by having to travel too much on day 1. Too ambitious. Tour manager rude and annoying. Never again.

Lands End to John o groats Found the whole trip was rushed and not a bit relaxing to much waiting around on stations for connections. Hotels weren't good except for the first one which was really good, the rest I have had better accommodation and food on cheap coach holidays. Certainly did not think it was worth the money.
A great, caring family firm, who were giving refunds from the very start of the covid pandemic, unlike some others!
They've been very good finally refunded our holiday totally as its been moved 3 times. Now it's finally cancelled altogether for this yr because of covid. The money was returned in a matter of days after I requested a full refund. I will book with them again when travel is allowed.
I have not yet travelled with this company yet due to cancellations but their staffs have been excellent in the way they have handled my refunds etc. This is a company with integrity and I look forward to travelling with them in the future feeling that I would be in safe hands.
