Very busy so no tables available inside, we didn't think to book. But sat outside even in cold weather was lovely and cosy with outdoor heaters and blankets! Had pie mash & Gravy, followed by Coffee and Carrot cake. All lovely & delicious, and great to have alternative milk options for all coffee types. Service was friendly, attentive & quick. Can see why this place is busy & will definitely be back (and book)

Lovely place. The staff are lovely. Friendly and helpful. Fab hot drinks (mocha was one of the best I've had out) and cake selection well presented and lovely. Cappuccino Cake & bakewell, great portion and so well prepared. Absolutely loved the pictures around, really characterful, great atmosphere.

We were greeted with a lovely welcome and shown to our table where there was a lovely “happy birthday” ballon waiting for my dad. Food was presented nicely, although, sorry to say the toasties didn’t have a lot of taste and the service was a little slow in taking our order but everything else was lovely. As we were leaving my dad was presented with a “just for you” card and bottle of speckled hen beer. Thank you so much for making him feel special so thoughtful of you x

Popped in for some lunch whilst visiting Heart Of The Shires. We hadn't booked but we're warmly greeted and soon offered a table. Staff were very polite and friendly, toasted sandwich was very nice as was the piece of cake that followed. Would definitely visit again.

We visited The 1867 for the first time since it was Darlingtons. This tearoom is a lovely place to visit. I had called half an hour in advance to check availability, and reserved a table. We were seated in the conservatory, and the corner we were in was extremely drafty as it was a particularly cold day. So before we ordered I asked if they had anywhere warmer available for us. Nothing was too much trouble and a lovely lady found us another table in a different room without any fuss or vibe. We were served by a young man who was friendly &. respectful. The food and hot drinks were excellent and the place was spotless. Overall it was lovely experience, nice atmosphere with genuinely kind and thoughtful staff who were there to make your visit comfortable and memorable.

I had to meet someone in the area for a business chat over coffee and I can’t wait to come back with my wife. The Three Shires is a selection of quirky and quite unique set of shops and Darlingtons is the icing on the cake. Roomy, clean, super friendly staff and a simple yet reasonably priced menu for food and drinks. I’ll definitely be coming back to have more than two Lattes next time.

Fantastic food. Lots of it and hot. Very helpful and nice staff. Very clean and tidy. Highly recommend to go out for lunch. Probably best to book as very busy. They took my number and called me back in 25 mins as advised because so busy. Which was great as could wonder around the shops there.
