Awful service , contacted in September 2022 and paid £750 to have my accounts filed. We are now in March 2023 and still not been filed. Once paid I had no contact from them and had to chase up, initially they asked for all documents which was sent over , it wasn’t until February they then told me I had to fill out a spreadsheet myself for all my income and expenses for the entire year and put into sections to make it easier for them, although they already had all my documents and log in details for planners, bank accounts, and apps that I use so it should be straight forward for them to do this, I have now been given a fine from companies house due to how late my accounts are. They refused to take my paper receipts which had already been put in order for the year and said they cannot use them , I have asked for my money back and it’s just excuse after excuse . No work has been carried out and are making it difficult to even get my money back. DO NOT USE
They are not specialists for small businesses, regardless of the packages they advertise. The names of the people I was dealing with changed almost every month. I constantly had to chase for information. Tax returns, PAYE calculations and Payroll calculations were always wrong, which left me to correct their mistakes. When you're running a business you hire accountants to take away the pain and the complicated jargon of the HMRC, to make it easier for you as a business owner to run your business. This was not my experience with Vantage and I advise you not to use them. Wish I could leave 0 out of 5 stars.
I am now waiting for over half a year to get my accounts done by Vantage. Keep calling them, sending them emails and they keep delaying me. Been in touch with John Stovell. Please ensure that my accounts are done by the end of the week! I waited and chased you long enough!!!
Terrible service with so many mistakes. I started using them after doing my tax return myself but I wanted to get professional advice about becoming a ltd company. First tax year they sent me my tax return on the 28th February (I had chased them the whole of January to ask when it would be done) at 07.31am with a glaring mistake about an overpayment that was due to their mistake. I was then asked more questions through the day as someone from another company had been drafted in to do my return. Then at 19.35pm they finally send me the corrected version and ask me to go over it. All in all a very frustrating experience but I gave them the benefit of doubt, but this year they send me my draft copy and have made me self employed which had never been discussed. That was my cue to leave. This is on top of missing out simple figures that I had given them on their own form, taking weeks to get back to me and I never did get any advice from them about becoming ltd because I was continually waiting for them to finish my accounts so we could get a good picture. The only positive is they taught me how to use XERO which is great, but they should have been about to do my return in a matter of hours, not months like they took.
We have been with Stilwell Gray since June 1998 (21 years) and recently taken early retirement. We have been very happy with the excellent and friendly professional service they have provided to us. It has been a pleasure working with them over the many years. Sarah Holland and her team have been brilliant. Always very helpful and quick to respond to emails. We would highly recommend Stilwell Gray.
