I had the pleasure of meeting Iain, the Proprietor of Buchanan Fine Jewellery, at a Wedding Showcase recently. I was looking for a piece of jewellery that was totally “bespoke” as I have been for quite some time, but never really managed to get exactly what I was looking for. I was impressed with Iain’s consultative approach, and also with the wide range of products that were on offer. It was a very difficult choice as Buchanan have much to choose from but with Iain's guidance, I was able to get “Exactly” what I was looking for. On visiting Iain at Buchanan in Lymington to pick up my purchase, I was again “impressed” with the wide range of products that are available off the shelf and also with the boutique itself which is very warm and charming, as a jewellers shop should be. The piece of jewellery that I ordered was made, and delivered within the promised timescale. The item of jewellery itself surpassed the quality and the appearance that I had expected and to say that I am happy with the end result is an understatement. I was also quite surprised when I heard the final cost which in my opinion was extremely good value for money. I also had some old items of gold and silver jewellery that I took along. I was offered a really good price and was pleasantly surprised when I could offset this against the price of my new item. I can strongly recommend the products and services that Iain and Buchanan have on offer. Whether it be something simple and off the shelf or something totally bespoke, then give Iain at Buchanan a call. I will certainly be shopping there again as soon as the need arises.
Iain was fantastic when helping us choose our wedding rings. We were eloping, and he kindly arranged to meet us after the shop had closed so we wouldn’t bump into anyone we knew. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and funny, with a brilliant selection of rings at great prices. He even cleaned my engagement ring for free as part of the service. Truly the best jewellery shop around — highly recommend!
Customer Service is everything … from the second my daughter and I entered the shop, we were greeted with a happy smiley vibe and made to feel welcome …. Simultaneously, Iain was with another customer and never let her feel ‘rushed’ to finish - what a lovely chilled vibe. I’ve only just given my ring in to be made smaller - and the price is so competitive - compared to other jewellers in the area, and the turnaround time is also estimated to be super quick. I’m leaving this review because I walked out of there feeling really boosted and happy - I recommend popping in if you’re feeling like you need a pick-me-up as Iain is brilliant. Was recommended this jeweller by a friend. Would highly recommend a visit to this lovely shop with very welcoming and friendly staff. I had some gold to sell and Iain gave me a very good price for the bits and bobs I had taken in. Will certainly be visiting again. Please make sure Rocky gets his sausage.
Perfect service and perfect workmanship. Go to see Iain once a year with a special assignment and he is most welcoming and helpful. Also, as goes without saying, so interesting on every aspect of jewels/jewellery and is happy to talk to you and share his knowledge. Never go anywhere else.
Such a friendly place! Great service when selecting our wedding bands and help with looking at repairing my grandmothers old engagement ring for me to continue to wear. Thank for for showing that great, friendly service still exists. Highly recommend!
The best and friendliest jeweller ever. Really helpful and adjusted the links on my watch for free. He only asked for a donation to the lifeboat in return. I ended up buying a bracelet whilst I was in there. Will definitely be using this shop again. Thank you.
A brilliant experience! Ian gave me an honest opinion on several pieces, and gave me a very good deal on jewellery offered in part exchange. Totally agree with a previous reviewer that Buchanan is our go to jeweller. We recently purchased a new piece involving a few visits to Iain, all of which were the after 4 o’clock appointments. These are a fantastic idea, meaning that you don’t feel rushed and have other people knowing your business. Not only did we discuss the jewellery, but other topics such as Bond villains, the Lion King and Rocky the dog, it felt like a real social event rather than just being there to buy something. It’s the way Iain remembers you, however long it was since you last visited. Would highly recommend, and not just for the toffees!
