   Started here at 49 years old. The level of support from not just the excellent and friendly instruction of Mark and the senior belts but all the other members who support each other to get better. I have started to get fitter from day one but what I wasn’t expecting was the mental health benefits which are life changing making this far more than a martial arts club. I am still very much a beginner but I am completely hooked and will keep trying to be 1% better each session.

   Have trained here for a year, it’s a Great laid back club to train at. None of the strict martial arts politics or “strictness”. Everyone is welcome of all ages/abilities. Always have a good laugh and enjoy the social aspect as much as the training too.

   Started bjj with the brazillian juijitsu accadamy and I can honestly say the place is amazing, from state of the art equipment, to a nice relaxed atmosphere with great people who also come and train here, the instructor mark is one of the best when it comes to bjj, and a real nice down to earth guy. Both my kids come here aswell and they both love it.. would recommend anyone to come and give bjj a go, wever it's you or your kids you/they won't be disappointed...

   After being unsure for the last few years if I was too old to start BJJ I noticed the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy was due to open. After engaging with Mark he said to have no concerns and have a free trial. Following my first session I had no hesitation in signing up as a member, the facilities are fantastic, Marks instruction is deliverered clearly and in a manner that makes the techniques understandable. Once you start you won't stop, I have the bug and won't look back now. Atmosphere in the academy is relaxed and fun. If you fancy a go, give it a try without any hesitation.

   My experience here has been nothing short of exceptional. Mark (Owner and Head Instructor) is warm and welcoming from the moment you first step inside the academy to the time you step out the door after the class wraps for the night. Top quality instruction from warm up to techinques to sparring. Clean and bright facility with a great mixture of experienced and new members ranging from white to brown belts. After a long hiatus from Jiu Jitsu I'm proud and excited to continue my journey in martial arts calling The Jiu Jitsu Academy home.
