Picked up a few items today, one of which was a pair of trousers off the clearance rail. At the checkout they said they had to do a price check. After a delay I was told the price was incorrect. Red label indicated £13.00. It was peeled off in front of me to reveal £24.99. I was told I that is what I would have to pay if I wanted them. They said that this error happens now and again. My issue was that I was made to feel that it was my fault, not theirs. Not good and I felt a little uncomfortable. I chose not to buy them. Not worth insisting that I should be able to buy them at the marked price as life is too short.

Popped in for some diffuser essential oils, and of course- as happens usually in United Kingdom. Im the only non-white person in the store shopping, and immediately, there is a store employee in all black that suddenly needs to re-arrange things in every aisle that I am browsing at. I tell my white husband that I cannot ever not take a receipt in situations like this, while he doesn’t even bat an eye about it, because while I get email, upon email about white british males and females having repeated instances of theft up to several thousands of pounds, identified from photos and surveillance, its the Latina browsing stationary they have to worry about. This is one business in this square that does this, from multiple. I have had this experience at Tesco and Sainsbury’s as well. Since I am from America, this is not new, but I happen to see it more frequently in United Kingdom. My suggestion is that they should install camera’s in each aisle, pay one person to watch them 24/7. If you see something suspicious, then don’t pretend to browse, approach and ask to see what has been taken. It’s much better than shoppers of colour feeling like they must deal with racial profiling at every shop. When my husband asks why I didn’t feel like going out shopping for fun? I always respond that its not fun in certain locales interacting with racists, and being racially profiled. I have boycotted certain businesses because of this and would rather shop places that are welcoming and treat people with equity until they prove otherwise, and not prior.

The choice of shoes is poor for the larger sizes 10.5 -12 with a wider and better selection usually in Size 6-8. I regularly check, but larger size section is bereft of anything decent and often has weird colours and shapes I wouldn’t wear on a dare.

I used to love coming in here, but one experience has made me never want to come in here again. A little while ago, I found an eyeshadow palette, I was going to buy it, but I wanted to open it and check that nobody had gouged their fingers into the eyeshadow and damaged it (which happens a lot) and I started opening it when a really rude member of staff approached me in a very rude and condescending manner and said in a horrible, patronising tone of voice “can you not open the eyeshadow palettes?” Which to be fair, I can understand because for all she knew, I could have not been planning on buying it and I may have been about to open it and gouge my fingers into the eyeshadow, but a polite reminder not to open the products wouldn’t have gone amiss, then I could have simply told her that I was planning on buying it and was checking that it wasn’t damaged, but being as I was spoken to in such a rude manner, I didn’t buy it because I am not going to spend money there if I am going to be spoken to like that! It’s a real shame because it’s a brilliant store, but like I said, I’m not going to spend my money somewhere where I am going to be treated like some sort of criminal! Don’t recommend this store whatsoever, go to the one in Hedge End, they are much friendlier and don’t treat you like a criminal.

I can find what I want 9 times out of 10. It is big and well stocked and easy to get to with a buggy.

Can be a little like a jumble sale, quite untidy and difficult to manoeuvre round, especially in a wheelchair, some of the staff a brilliant, very helpful, really friendly, but it's a but hit and miss. Some really good bargains can be found, and I do love to find an unusual gift in here, you have to check your prices though, some things look like a great bargain, but can be found half the price elsewhere, equally you can often find a real money saving bargain, or that item for your kitchen that you can't find anywhere else. They don't go up to large sizes anymore, which is a shame because myself and others I've heard asking in the store where the plus sizes are. Would be great if it didn't look like a jumble sale and was easier to get around.

Couldn't find what I wanted things I've bought from there before, Couldn't find any staff on the floor, even security that's stood and watched me before. I'm in a wheelchair so I suppose they WOULD suspect me as a shoplifter.

Love this store - gifts as u first enter - children's toys n clothing on the left. Women's clothing on the right with mens further back. The homeware along the back is a wide rage from bedding to mugs
