Really good experience, food was cooked fresh so happy to wait 15/20 mins, food was also very tasty, in linr with 'a proper chippy'. The employees were very attentive, friendly and gave good customer service. The restaurant itself was okay, could use a bit of TLC.

Lovely food, we had the impression it was under new management that were not very experienced in the Fish and Chips Shop industry, and the signs etc in the shop do need updating and making good, also if someone orders a large portion of chips make it large not just a little bit bigger than a regular portion, you ll get a lot more customers that way. All in all the food was great, well cooked, please the customers and you ll do great. We had a lovely trip to Hayling Island and your lovely chips helped make it great.

We visited Dolphin fish bar following a series of great reviews to take out and eat on the seafront at Hayling. I’m fully aware that restaurants can have a one off bad experience, and I hope this was just one of those times for us, but can only review vs. What our experience was. We ordered 2 fish, one chips, a battered sausage and a curry sauce / mushy peas. The food was all cooked fresh which was a great start, service was friendly, there were staff being trained behind the counter but all in all a pleasant enough experience in the shop - agree with a previous review that don’t judge a book by its cover on the exterior of the shop. The food however was a let down. The fish was very greasy, so much so that the batter had stuck to the paper when we took it out. The chips were soft inside and out and barely held together and unfortunately there was no salt and vinegar despite asking for it. The sausage was good and the curry sauce had a good flavour. Our order was £29, so not incredibly expensive, but we had hoped for more considering we had read good reviews prior. Hopefully a ‘one off’ as referenced earlier.

Bit slow. Chips bit on rare side! Battered sausage was good.

For a local chippy, it’s convenient and tasty, saves a trip further away. It’s cheaper than the other takeaway’s, Chinese etc. Will always come back for more, for fish and chips, I see other reviews putting this place down, but for me it’s a good place for food. I am not one to complain, but if the food was poor I would state this.
