Really happy with my visit to Magowans shop today . Sharon was very helpful and I’m delighted with the dress I got for my daughter’s wedding. I was made to feel comfortable and relaxed and given the help to pick my outfit . I’d recommend anyone going to magowans for their special outfit , lots of choice and great support with trying on and with accessories.

Excellent range of dresses for a wedding and other occasions. Staff very helpful and not at all pushy. Parking restrictions just outside but car park nearby

I went into this establishment a little while ago looking for a dress for myself as I was attending a wedding 2 weeks later. When I saw the window display I did think this might not be the right store for what I was looking for. Anyway I walked in with my Mother-in-law and my 1 year old son (who was very well behaved throughout the entirety of our visit). Walked round a bit to view a selection of dresses, lifting a few which I liked. There was a staff member already with a client so I approached the second lady in the middle of the store who looked to be working on the books. I probably stood in this spot for a full 10 minutes to then be somewhat acknowledged. I said I'd like to try on a few dresses and she just rudely, meekly pointed to the dinky changing rooms in the corner. Tried on the dresses, all were the wrong shape for me (the store's range seemed to be all that same cut and shape). The dresses would be more fitting for the shape of a 55+ year old woman. I returned the dresses to the same staff member who loosely had served me in the beginning by this stage she was still disinterested and acting above herself. To then be told there were more dresses further round the store but they were £800+ and that "might not be my budget". I just stood there stunned. The lady I assume hadn't realised that my handbag was worth double that. For a member of staff to tell them their client their budget? Granted I might not have looked my best that day but when you have a 1 year old that's not always possible, but yet these pretentious older ladies still judged a young mother. Won't be back. Wouldn't recommend here due to poor range of styles and incredibly dire customer service.

Barbara, from Magowans Fashions is a complete star....knows exactly what suits each customer and tells her honest opinion....I have been few times and have always got sorted out for special occasions by Barbara....I do have to mention Doreen also who was lovely and friendly....well done Magowans....
Met a lovely lady today in McG called Barbara. She was so helpful and friendly, turns out our sons know each other really well and we had so much in common. I'd recommend this shop as it has every colour and style that'd suit everyone
