Had my mot done here and they failed it, I said I would pay them to fix the issues, nearly £500 later my tyres were over filled by 14 psi each, the track rod end ball cover is broken within the month of them replacing it? Unless it was never fixed in the first place! And the state of my car when I got it back from them was shocking. Never again. I would not recommend

Currently have my van in with Hilsea MOT, I have quite an extensive list of repairs and need my van back on the road for work.. the guys in the garage are being really helpful in helping to get the work done at pace, also VERY reasonably priced! Great service.

Booked a mot for 11:20, showed up at 11. Was told it’ll take around an hour to get around to it, which is fair enough takes as long as it takes. Left there and was told I’ll get a call when it was done. 2pm came and I had heard nothing. Called up, turns out they shut at 1. Left with no car over the weekend and no clue where my car was. Called Monday to find out what had gone on, “busy day” forget the sorry for leaving me with no car. I now find out it’s failed on a airbag light, ask if they can scan it for me and find out if the code will clear: “not the sort of work we’re looking to take on at the moment”. Wouldn’t ever leave a 1 star review but I’ve been shafted by them all weekend without them being too bothered by it. Reply: you told me you would call me when it was done. Would’ve been there as soon as you rang but didn’t bother. Just read their reply to see what sort of garage they are

My first time at Hilsea MOT. Friendly, honest people. Even made me a cup of tea. I will be going back next year.

I had a good experience booking my MOT and completing the work. However there was a bit of a problem with a missing light cover, of which I don't think the garage is taking responsibility for. I am very sure it would not have fallen off and of course I have not taken it off. Regardless of what happened, I have been trying to communicate with the garage by email to sort this, but after having to email twice each time to get a response and not getting a response to my latest email I am not going to continue to pursue seeking help from the garage and just sort it myself. It's a shame as it's a tiny little thing that could have been easily resolved. I will come back again in the future as I am sure this is just a one off.

Have been using Hilsea MOT Centre for a few years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. Easy to use online booking system, good prices, workmanship and honesty. Super friendly staff who are always welcoming. Positive feedback from friends and family who I've recommended. No negative comments at all!!

Never had a bad experience. Front desk is always super friendly and the guys are like Brian Cox of the mechanics world, in that they explain complicated stuff in plain English and don't make you feel stupid for asking questions. Feels like a small, family run, community driven business. When I have to spend money on my car, I'm happy to do it here.

A good deal is never what it seems. I booked my MOT with Hilsea MOT Centre for £30 online - a great price compared to others and very local to me which helped. There was an issue with a tyre pressure sensor valve, which caused the dashboard to indicate a flat tyre, even though there wasn't one. As such, I asked for this to be fixed (I had previous had a quote of £30 for this to be done elsewhere but had never had time). Instead, they ran a scan at a cost of £72, to temporarily remove the fault. Three days later, when I started the car again for the first time, the pressure light came back on. I returned the car to the MOT centre on the same day, to be told it would be a FURTHER £90 to fix the fault, despite them telling me it had already been fixed and despite me indicating at the point of booking the MOT, and again at drop off, that there was a fault with a sensor valve. In short, three days after it passed it's MOT with them temporarily fixing the issue, I now have a fault which would cause an MOT failure if I was to get the car tested again, and it hasn't been fixed. AVOID! Edit in response to the reply from the MOT Centre - I advised on my booking it was an issue with the sensor. You put the scan through without contacting me (even though you claim you did). There was over 20 miles of fuel in the car - more than enough to do whatever short test drive was required. In short, this centre are another classic example of MOT centres finding any excuse to fail a car and fixing it as easily as possible at the highest possible price. Please be careful.
