   I live nearby and have passed this shop in car many times. I bought 2 pairs of new catapillar (colorado) boots, They're nubuck leather and I wanted to weather protect them. I was paranoid about the honey roast tan boots as they're prone to marking so I googled coblers for the first time in 45 years lol. This shop (Trev's Heel Bar, Key Coblers) and Timpsons where the top results. The reviews for Trevs was a better user experience overall when compared to Timpsons but in all honesty, Me being lazy git found Timpsons to be more accessible with it being in a supermarket meaning less walking and closer parking The website states they do shoe restoration which includes. "Shoe Restoration Get your shoes cleaned, waterproofed, stretched, dyed and altered to make sure they fit perfectly." (Source Timpson Website) As these are brand new, Still with tags as clean as they are likely to ever be I figured the waterproofed section would be no problem at all. That was a mistake I will not make again. The guy just seemed uninterested and said that's not a service they provide. When I said (to the person I was with), I will go down Holderness Road and pop to Key Cobblers, The Timpson employee told me he closed around 3 months ago. Feeling frustrated that I'm going to have to do this myself I bought an aerosol protective spray from him for £9.95, knowing I could get two for that price from amazon but buying it anyway because I was fed-up. Anyway, dumping my boots in the car I remembered at least one of the Google reviews for Trevs was only around 3 week old, which was odd given he was supposed to have closed months ago (according to the Timpson guy), It didn't add up, so off I went to have a look. Meeting Trev for the first time was a pleasure, He informed me a lot of people have been told he moved on. One a side note, I'm on the ASD, so meeting people is a chore for me, I do not find it easy at all and its probably the reason why this review is so lengthy (sorry about that). Trev was easy to talk to, and explained that it was easy to do myself, My autistic nature however, was standing its ground in my head and I didn't want to risk damaging my tan boots. So we offered to pay Trev to apply it. Trev saw my stupidly expensive time of water repellent in the bag and said he would apply it for me and to go visit a few shops on road if we needed to and come back in 30 minutes. We returned and it was done, This fellow is fantastic, he has been shoe repairing for 30+ years, (I think my short term memory let's me down when I'm overstimulated). His father had the same occupation. He is passionate about shoe repairs, that is clear from the talks about it. He has no intention of closing down and if he moves location he will make sure it is well documented on his Facebook page (I don't use social media networks lol, but do check the page out if you have an account) https://www.facebook.com/100063654456977/?locale=en_GB Overall my experience today ended very positively. I don't often review shops but this guy deserves it. He wouldn't take any money for the job, So I asked for a few tins of weather protective spray, I just wanted to pay something for his time, he refused as my other tin had a lot left, for the record he sells them for around £5 a tin, £4.odd at the time of writing this. He sells nubuck leather compatible brushes and explained how and where to use it, £3.95 at the time of writing. Anyhow I best wrap this up, if you are still reading this, we'll done and thank you for reading my rambling review. The bottom line is, its rare today to find a shop owner that is friendly and really cares about you as a consumer and the work they do. This guy ticks those boxes, please if you need work done to any of your favorite shoes, give this guy a call or drop in and see him. We need to support local businesses, He also does key cuts and has a variety of different items on the shelves for sale. I will be sure to visit again.    Ellis Suddards. I have used this gentleman now for 19 years I moved from bradford to hornsea and found this lad on my taxi journies in to hull always pleasant and helpful ,at reasonable prices,I am back in bradford but still use him with the help of my daughter
