BE CAREFUL! Wanted turf. Checked stock online, 29 rolls in stock, and drove 70 miles to purchase only to be told they weren't on sale because they'd had them over a week so they "might not be any good". No option to check if they were OK, they just told me to go to B&Q instead.
Terrible customer service. Products online have different codes to ones in store. The plants I went to purchase were cheaper online. Took these to the till exactly the same plants to be told they were different and cost more absulte joke. If you reduce stuff online and say it is available in store, then update store stocks to match. On top of this, the cashier seemed more interested in being on her own personal phone than to deal with my query correctly.

For some things, Homebase is good and worth the trip as it's the furthest away for me. If it could carry the range that the B&Q superstores do, it would be worth visiting more.
At the time of my visit, too much space given over to Christmas items and many DIY items missing. I was unable to purchase what I required - a padlock.
Honestly I'm disappointed. Having just bought a new property I thought I'd have a quick look in Homebase for ideas on kitchen and bathroom units... What I found was very disappointing. The displays were shockingly put together and looked after... bath panels were hanging off, cupboard doors were wonky, worktop edges were scuffed and strangest of all there was some kind off yellow goo in one of the display sinks. I don't know, maybe this was some kind of way to show you what your house will look like in two years if you let your kids and next door's cat run riot. Anyway, it's a shame, the actual range was quite nice, in fact I fell in love with a bath with a built in shower until I picked up the shower head to show the missus and to my amusement it literally fell apart in my hands. I couldn't tell if it was a poor quality unit or whether it just hadn't been assembled properly. None of this is a dig at the shop floor workers themselves, surely the displays should be built by an actual tradesman... after all I would imagine that Homebase can arrange fitting at a customer's home and not just send Karen and Debbie from the tills to do it. Not surprisingly, this issue isn't something I came across later on in the day at two other local businesses.
Homebase have a great garden center. Which is my main reason for going there however the DIY is good too.The photo is of a clematis bought there
