Good place needed wood certain thickness and they cut it down to size like everywhere else stuff all gone up in price the price off wood now out off this world
We had an appointment for 3pm and unfortunately were 15mins late for it. When we walked in, a member of staff was with one other customer, so we decided to look about. Another member of staff came up to us with knitted eyebrows and asked were we ok. We explained we had an appointment for 3pm but were a bit late and apologised for it. The member of staff let out a big sigh and made a show of checking her watch. She then asked us who the appointment was with. When we told her we hadn’t been given a name, she let out another sigh and walked over to her colleague. Then she told us to go down to the showroom. After waking around the, frankly, sparse showroom we came back up the stairs. We waited for about 10 minutes wondering if the same staff member was going to help us as we hadn’t been told anything else and she was sitting at her desk ignoring us. When I asked her do we wait for someone or what happens next, she told us that the other colleague would be the one who would serve us. But she also added that “since you were late, she has had to deal with another customer”. At this point we had had enough and left. We understand it’s frustrating when people are late but this is not the way to treat potential customers. And I highly doubt we are the first people to be late for an appointment at their shop. I feel the issue is that, as the shop has been around for a while, arrogance and complacency have set in. Before this appointment, we were at a rival bathroom showroom and the staff there were incredibly helpful, polite and friendly. We were going to shop around but we feel, with the terrible reception we got at McCall’s, we are just going to go with the previous business and certainly advise anyone who asks us, to steer clear of J&W McCall.
Strange place. Stock is fine, but reception is cold and unwelcoming - be prepared to be left waiting at the counter by staff who can see you from six foot away but don't seem to want to approach you.
