My car’s clutch finally gave up the ghost at the top of a multi storey car park. My breakdown recovery company Start Rescue informed me that RRS Recovery would be with me within 90 minutes, so by 11.50am latest. The recovery guy finally arrived at 12.30, after a wait that was over 2 hours. Even though RRS knew it was a multi storey car park, they still turned up in a recovery truck that they knew couldn’t make the height restrictions. The guy confirmed that the clutch had gone, and then told me that they couldn’t help me (a lone female) and that they were handing the job back to Start Rescue. So that was 2.5 hours wasted. In the end, my husband turned up with a couple of friends, and between them they pushed the car back into the street, at which point Start Rescue called another local recovery company, Beacon, who arrived within 30 minutes in a van that would’ve been able to tow me out of the car park. If I ever get told again that RRS are coming to help, I will always decline.

I was left waiting 5 hours for an RAC truck to arrive and assist, due to waiting this long I was unable to get my car straight to a garage to get it fixed. Instead they sent RRS Recovery in to help, they guy were polite and understood what went wrong. They put my car on there truck and brought me home. Many Thanks Guys

We had a terrible experience with this firm. We were told 90 minutes was our wait time and over 5 hours later the truck turned up. The driver was abrupt and aggressive from the start. We were told we couldn't put our dogs in the truck, they had to stay in the motorhome on the back of the wagon. When we objected, he said he would leave us where we were. We felt we couldn't object because our breakdown cover might refuse to send us another company and reluctantly got in the truck by which time I was really upset about our dogs. My partner asked him for the keys so he could lock the doors, his response was, what for, nobody is going to nick it! We explained we needed to make our dogs safe. He then proceeded to drive wrecklessly, speeding and pulling out on other drivers. My partner asked him to slow down and drive more carefully, our dogs would be afraid, he said your camper isn't moving, it definitely was and he said I'll just pull over and leave you here. When we got back to the garage, it was dark and he took the motorhome off the truck as we requested because there were overhead cables that we didn't think it would go beneath while on the truck. He did, got back in the truck and drove off leaving us to get our motorhome down the drive, we were flabbergasted. We had a fuel leak and had lost most of our fuel very quickly, we didn't know whether it would start, luckily for us it did and we managed to get it off the main road to safety. If you break down and your cover recommends this company, ask for a different one, it was an awful experience.

They collected my car. Then they told me they didn't have it. I then had to do detective work to find the car. If I had found the car myself. I don't ever think we would have seen my car again. Terrible serviceman there staff are rude and abusive. Told the RAC to never send them to me ever again.

Reported time of breakdown vehicle arrival was 20.08. Actual time of arrival, 21.37, one and half hours after estimated time. No explanation given, even though they have depot 20 minutes from my breakdown. Reported fault, apparently, was flat battery. No diagnostics carried out. Battery pack used to start car. Guy said you’re good to go. Broke down again 10 minutes up the road, same fault. Called guy, he said can’t come, on another job, call your insurance report breakdown. Called RRS Dunnington, no help from them either. Recovered myself to home and then to garage in morning. I cannot stress how useless and bad this service is. The fault was the alternator, so should have had recovery to garage. I eventually made it home at midnight after 6 hours of first reporting breakdown.

Locked myself out of my car, they arrived in around an hour on new years day. I was 25 miles from their head office and they got me going in under 10 mins. Thank you.

Had a problem with the towbar electrics, guy came and looked at it confirmed it was a problem with the 13 pin electronic connector. Took it apart and could not find a fix for it, siad it needed an auto-electric company to look at it. He left the site and I looked at what he had done he had left one of the screw's and bolt out altogether and the other two where just hanging loose. Complete and utter bad workmanship. This company was nominated through Mayday green flag. Would never use them again.

Part of the Green Flag services, the chap was smack on time at the 12 noon agreed slot for home start service. Vehicle just as shown on pictures, driver great manner, passed him the keys whilst diagnostics check. Back to me with engine running and advised to get to garage for new battery immediately. All sorted v promptly, everything done electronically and no signature needed. Bases in York and Hull so superb as I’m a Hull resident. THANKS V MUCH!

They were very professional in recovering my car after an accident. Courteous and polite on the phone too when I wanted to visit their yard to retrieve stuff left in the car.
