I have only recently been discharged from just over a 6 month admission. Don’t let this wards ‘excellent’ reputation fool you. They are far from that let me tell u. I will forever be traumatised thank you bere clinic. The amount of abuse I was exposed to is disgusting only now I have come to realise that that place was far from excellent. The amount of medical ‘mistakes’ in that place that could’ve killed me or other patients is frightening. I had twice had an ng tube ‘misplaced’ in my lung almost killing me as I gasped for air. I could understand once but I spoke to many other patients and all had had something similar. Some complained but we never heard back. We were dismissed as it was an ‘accident’ it happened COUNTLESS times to almost every patient that had a feed. We were used as practice dummies it felt like. Expect were were helpless and actually living believe it or not they seemed to treat us more like prisoners. There is a lack of staff which leads patients to feel even more dehumanised. Most of us could go on walks daily except to do that we had to have staff member free. There weren’t. So instead we asked to go out in the garden. Surprise no staff. We couldn’t even breathe fresh air. Often staff would fall asleep on 1-1 and general checks which lead to patients not being observed. You don’t have to be stupid to know that if you’re on 1-1 you should be watched at ALL times not just when they feel like it. Staff mostly agency would ask patients where others were . They wouldn’t even check just right down what room they were in claiming they checked them whilst they all sat in the lounge talking in their own language and playing cards. Some of the agency didn’t even know where reception was the place they literally came in through. Some could’ve speak English. There was little if not any therepy. Just one psychologist who would read off a sheet. None of us got therepy were were left to press alarms for our peers and listen hopelessly as we could constant hear banging with no one coming as surprise no one was free. The place was covered in dirt, mold and blood patches which hadn’t even been wiped off the walls just Been hurriedly wiped once leaving awful patches behind. Every wall in that place was covered in blood. Members of staff would stare and laugh at us whilst we tried to speak up but we were always told ‘there’s places worse than this’ by the time I was discharged pretty much every permanent staff member that was there when I was first admitted had left. None of us had the change to build a therapeutic relationship. This also meant new untrained staff would come and end up injuring us but it was okay as they ‘had to learn. Bere clinic. You destroyed me in every way possible even bits I didn’t know existed. These are only a few things I could remember from my admission that left me traumatised. We will speak up something needs to change. You’ll probably all be sat round laughing at this review but I don’t care. And I know my admission was probably one of the ‘better’ compared to others who had been there for over a year. I can’t imagine spending that long in hell.

The staff often fell asleep on shift and missed people’s checks. It’s not safe.

Im not gonna say who this is for privacy reasons but this place was soo bad like i could t even describe how bad it was the staff treated you so horribly and that one staff member who I’m not gonna say who was so mean she would make fun of you for your behaviours and everything you do and if she said something she would sometimes give you a dirty look, I only really trusted 2 people in this hospital so thank you for making my stay better and don’t even get me started on the food it sometimes it was nice but other times it wasn’t even cooked like the pasta was sometimes still raw and the food would always be cold and with the school the teachers were very nice probably the only nice people in that place so thank you to the teacher but one this the teachers could do is actually let the children have breaks bur over all this hospital was so bad so please if you see this and your child needs to go to a hospital for a eating disorder please don’t send them here it was traumatic and the staff are horrible I had to make several complaints while I was there

There are many things I could say about this place some good some bad but all I’m going to say is the food is absolutely shocking on multiple occasions the food has been not only cold but also wet. Eyelashes and hair, which is not my own, has also been discovered whilst looking upon my plate. Kitchen needs to be improved ASAP.
