   Great carpark and drop-off point. However, staff members were using the public carpark instead of their own staff carpark, that meant that by 09.00, there were very few public car parking spaces available, whilst the staff carparks a few hundred yards away were half empty, bad form guys. Staff were busy cleaning around the carpark very early on, very presentable. There was no one at main reception on our arrival for cataract surgery so we had to find our own way, it took a while but we got there. Inside the hospital was clean, tidy, well laid out and generally well signposted. It is not very often that attending a hospital is a simple process, but attending the Downe certainly was. Thank you.

   Telephoned this morning after a nasty fall yesterday and had appointment made speedily. On arrival greeted warmly, reception excellent, triaged quickly, seen by Doctor x-rayed, treatment given and out again all within an hour and a half!!! All information given clearly. First time using service, more used to Belfast hospitals a&e in past and this was a breath of fresh air. Well done to all. Super treatment. Thank you. Further addition -: Return visit to check out increase in pain six days after initial visit. Same prompt response, in and out (having been seen and x-ray taken) within an hour!!! Obviously last visit was not a fluke and the unit was much busier this time. Excellent care. Thanks again.

   Firstly, to introduce myself - I am a 75-year-old bloke. I drove down to the hospital to pick up a friend, who had just had a cataract operation. It was a breath of fresh air. As I arrived early, I had breakfast. The restaurant staff kept calling me “love”, which I love. And the breakfast was super tasty. Up until I met up with my friend all I encountered was smiling helpfulness. BTW: the hospital is a tad out of the way for someone driving from the Belfast direction, but it is very well signposted. So, five stars.

   What a brilliant hospital! Free parking with plenty of spaces for patients, visitors and staff. Reassuring welcome from the Meeters and Greeters at the front door. Excellent Restaurant and super helpful staff. Please keep this gem of a hospital well funded and open. Such a welcome change from the city based overbooked, overcrowded and over stressed bigger hospitals.

   My daughter had an appointment at 11.10 am today for Trauma & Orthopaedics (ICATS), when she went in she was told by the nurse/doctor that they would have to make another appointment for her as she needed to be wearing shorts and a t-shirt. She was wearing jogging bottoms and a sports bra. Nowhere on the letter was she told to wear shorts and t-shirt, he did apologise but I was fuming as she also has an appointment for an MRI later in the Ulster hospital. My husband took the day off work because of these appointments and will now have to take more time off. More consideration needs to be given!

   I was a patient in The Day Procedure Unit today. Such professional staff. I was nervous & apprehensive but everything was explained in full detail by very caring friendly staff. The whole environment was very clean & calm. Lovely coffee & toast was ready for me when I came round. Nothing was a bother. A stark contrast to an admisson I had recently in another hospital where I was made to feel like a burden. Well done Downe
