The service was fine and the price was cheap, but the haircut itself was really disappointing. It was cut much shorter than I’d asked for or than the barber indicated it would be, and it’s not at all the style I wanted. They were polite and quick, but I’d rather pay more somewhere else and leave with a cut I’m actually happy with.
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit to your barbershop. Before the haircut began, I specifically requested both scissors and a razor, and I was told the total cost would be £12. I agreed to this price. However, once the haircut was finished, another staff member suddenly told me the scissors cut alone costs £15. When I asked why the price was changed, I explained that I had already been quoted £12. Despite this, the staff member refused to honor the original price, even though his colleague who gave me the quote was present and witnessed the agreement. Additionally, I asked for a student discount, which I was informed beforehand was available (£2 off), but the person handling the payment refused to apply it. Again, his colleague had previously mentioned that the discount was offered, yet it was still denied. To make matters worse, the haircut itself was not satisfactory and did not meet my expectations. Despite my disappointment, I chose to remain calm and leave quietly, but I believe it is important to raise these concerns. I hope you take this feedback seriously and ensure better communication among your staff in the future, as well as more consistency in pricing and service quality.
It’s not often that I take time to leave a review, for Scissor Barber I have to give them my regards. When you go there, they’re not treating every head the same. They have the hand for it. The art in it. If you want something unique for you, they will deliver. And in that I say they’re great, reliable quality for being your barber.
Scissors Barbers in Hull gave a decent, average haircut—nothing special. The fade could have been blended a bit better for a cleaner look. There wasn’t much conversation, so the experience felt a bit flat. Overall, it was fine but nothing to shout about.

I've been back here 5 times now, which is a record for me, as someone who despises getting their hair cut. The best barber shop in Hull. The staff are great; they are friendly and have a real eye for details and precision. Would seriously recommend having your beard trimmed/shaped alongside your haircut and having the hot towel treatment too. The whole experience feels premium, and you don't leave covered in hair and feeling itchy as they take care to make sure it's all cleaned up afterwards. Outstanding.
