   I have used the Maitland Clinic on two occasions, Doctor Ball and he’s team have been first class. They really do care! , The team are so professional and discreet, They have done a wonderful job with my hair, and their after care is superb. I would not hesitate to recommend The Maitland Clinic and Doctor Ball to anyone, that is thinking about improvement to there hair loss, or style, Thank you to the Maitland Clinic, Nick James.

   After wasting £300 at a London clinic that charged for a consultation and then wanted another £300 fee to rebook when I flagged an important work commitment prior, I went to The Maitland Clinic instead and was really impressed. Robbie was thorough, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in understanding my situation. The whole experience felt professional and honest with no sales pressure, just clear advice and expertise. Highly recommend for anyone looking for credible guidance rather than a hard sell.

   My experience with Dr. Ball and The Maitland Clinic has been nothing short of outstanding—truly beyond my expectations. I waited a full year after my procedure before writing this review so I could speak to the long-term results. I had around 2,000 grafts focused on my hairline, and the outcome has been incredible. From the initial consultation to the procedure itself and all the follow-up care, the attention to detail has been flawless. Every step of the process felt meticulous and professional. I didn’t experience any pain during or after the operation, and the results speak for themselves. My hair looks completely natural—regardless of how I style or cut it, no one can tell I’ve had anything done. Yes, there’s a waiting list and the cost is on the higher end, but the results are truly life-changing and absolutely worth every penny.

   I have been very much looking forward to writing this review. From the submission of the online questionnaire to the clinic's follow-up messages to check on my well-being, I was very impressed with the dedication and professionalism of the Maitland Clinic. I chose the Maitland Clinic after seeing him featured on TV to fix a transplant that I had abroad as the hairline didn't look very natural. Dr Ball thoroughly explained everything about the procedure and the more I learned the more I wished I had just gone to the Maitland Clinic to begin with. I lost count of the amount of technicians that are dedicated to perform the actual surgery. Dr Ball spent several hours meticulously selecting, removing and passing each graft to the technicians for sorting according to their thickness. The grafts are then carefully preserved in a fluid to ensure that they can be transplanted successfully into the recipient area by two more technicians who rotate every few minutes to ensure uniformity. As I understand it, the instructions to stop drinking and exercise etc shortly prior to the procedure are there to minimise bleeding. I followed them and after just a few days it was not obvious at all that I had had a procedure. My hair looked much thicker and the hairline very natural after just a few weeks. Do now go abroad, just go and see Dr Ball at the Maitland Clinic - you will not regret it!

   I had a FUE hair transplant at the Maitland Clinic in February 2024 after debating the process for about 18 months, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I did quite a lot of research, obtained various quotes including overseas and other Harley St clinics but settled on the Maitland clinic based on their results, detailed advice and the excellent consultation process. Dr Ball and patient advisor David provided me with reassurance and confidence that I would get a natural look which will age well. They take a great deal of care and time in checking your hair and talking through what they can do, how they do it and what to expect with the end result. I was a little nervous, but the process on the day was remarkably relaxed - Dr Ball and his very skilled technicians made me feel calm and comfortable, and i was very well looked after. They were all very friendly, whilst being utterly calm and professional. 1 year on and I am completely chuffed with the results, which have given me confidence in my appearance again. Yes it may cost you a bit more than a trip to Turkey, but some things are worth the money. The fact that a lot of their work is correcting procedures carried out elsewhere should also tell you a lot. The aftercare has also been excellent, and Dr Ball and his colleagues are all incredibly nice people. If you’re going to do it, do it properly and go here.

   I had a 2000 graft FUE transplant at the Maitland Clinic (Portsmouth) in March 2022. A year later I am very happy with the results and I would happily recommend Dr Ball and his team at the Maitland Clinic. I had consultations (online and in person) with a good few clinics and none of them were as thorough as David Anderson and Dr Ball. All of the other clinics just looked at my head and gave a rough estimate by eye whereas Dr Ball had the proper hair analyzer machine and it was much more comprehensive consultation. On the day it all went very smoothly and the team were great although it is a long day of course. The recovery was essentially pain free after the first few days. My donor area has healed up nicely and even though I wear my hair very short on the sides and back you can hardly notice any FUE scars. When the donor area hair grows longer you do not see any sparse patches from where the area has been over harvested it all looks natural. The top has fully grown now and its night and day difference to what it used to look like, I can wear it shorter now and it still looks much thicker than before. Prior to the transplant, from my personal research Dr Ball and his team at the Maitland Clinic stood out as the best and a year on from having the transplant I would not go anywhere else.

   I'm glad there was parking and very easy to get to from the main road. The staff were all really friendly and chatty and I was very surprised by how attentive they were and their willingness to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I felt like I was at a 5 star spa and hotel. It was really nice of Dr Ball to see me out to the buildings reception at the end of the day and of the nurse to see me out to the car park, it finished off the day perfectly. It was lovely of the staff to go out and get food for me and bring it back whilst I sat inside doing nothing. Dr Ball's explanations were detailed and thorough but easy to understand. Dr Ball was very caring and clearly cares about the work that he does and is very passionate about high standards of every aspect of the operation. Dr Ball's attitude towards his work reminded my of my own attitude towards my work - understanding that there's a person your severing and someone's life you're dealing with. I was glad that David was at the initial meeting, having been through operations himself, and although he works with The Mainland Clinic I felt like he was there to support me rather than the clinic. Very simply, but I'm really glad to have had the list from the nurse which lists out what I needed to do each day after the opp! I'm glad the nurse messaged me the next day and asked for photos, and that I can email the nurse when ever if I need to. I think a simple but powerful comment to make is that I would recommend The Maitland Clinic to friends and family and that I would attend The Mainland Clinic again!

   I had my procedure with Dr Ball and his team earlier this week - 1,150 grafts, FUE hair transplant. I am absolutely delighted with the service and results I have achieved thus far. Dr Ball has a fantastic reputation and is extremely meticulous. I particularly liked their preference for natural-looking results that will be enjoyed in the long-term; taking into account your family history of hair loss to assess the likelihood of you requiring future procedures. They made me feel extremely welcome and at ease on the day. Dr Ball and his team are very empathetic, sociable, and professional. If I do require a 'top-up' in years to come, I certainly won't be looking anywhere else!

   I had an FUT hair transplant of 3500 grafts at the Maitland Clinic in August. The whole experience has been great so far. In particular the care and enthusiasm of Dr Ball and the whole team on the day of the procedure was fantastic, despite it being a long day finishing at 10pm. The after care has been exemplary and everything they told me would happen has happened so far, so i'm keeping positive about the new year when the grafts will start to come of out their resting phase. Based on my experience so far I'd definitely recommend Maitland.

   I came to the Maitland clinic and Dr Edward Ball via a glowing recommendation from a friend. I decided to take the plunge this year with a transplant. I then experienced a superb experience from start to finish. An incredibly professional clinic and I cannot fault their knowledge, advice about treatment options, products and future planning for my hair. Their medical standards for surgery/treatments are without doubt for me, higher than other countless clinics in the UK & abroad. Initially David Anderson was my first point of contact who is 'Senior Patient Advisor' and is absolutely on the pulse of current knowledge, treatments (as of course is Edward Ball & the team once I met them) protocols (and their success rates) and he answered ALL my questions and set me at ease; after researching the process for years and years – it became a little overwhelming for me to understand things, David completely changed that for me. Everyone is friendly, approachable and it was like meeting old friends: from David, to the medical staff/nurses to Edward himself. I travelled to Portsmouth for both my initial consultation (as I preferred to meet both David & Edward) and of course for my procedure later. Just 2 hours away for me. Although you might think of London or Harley Street as an indicator of getting the best, I would say a recommendation sits much higher for me and it was a pleasure to visit and stay in Portsmouth actually, the clinic is currently in a large new build business complex and overlooks a super lake and forest vista - super relaxing. The whole team and the aftercare were first class and they even refunded me some of my payment for the transplant as Doctor Ball used less grafts - what other company would do that? I have stayed as a patient and have opted for continued PRP therapy as part of my maintenance. I give the Maitland clinic full marks for their service, care and aftercare and I am sure they will continue to set the standard for the industry. Russell
