Jenny and Mark go above and beyond to ensure that you have an immersive experience at the Green Holiday Cottages. They share history of the area, knowledge of the foliage and fauna, and the way they transformed a neglected property into quaint cottages through their labor of love. Breathtaking scenery surrounds the grounds and the cottages. We stayed in the Kiln and it was comfy and cozy.

Fabulous converted mill. Accommodation was excellent. The setting was exceptional, in a quite countryside setting there was a very safe garden for smallies to play. A river with stepping stones ran by the cottage. And the the added bonus of a country walk by a pasture with 3 little goat's. Mark and Jenny were super hosts.

My wife and I had an amazing 3 days at The Green Holiday Cottages as part of a retreat. It was such a beautiful place to relax, connect with nature, and build community with others in our group. The cottages were inviting, comfortable, and clean. Mark and Jenny, our hosts, offered warm hospitality, and gave us a tour of their property, recalling how they transformed this place from an abandoned old mill. Mark explained how he built the natural dry stacked stone walls around the property, and even led us in a stone-wall building exercise. Highly recommended!

As a mobile catering business, we are always on the lookout for stunning venues that complement our catering style, and The Green Holiday Cottages (just outside Kilkeel) absolutely tick all the boxes! It has quickly became a firm favourite! We've had the pleasure of catering a BBQ Wedding there earlier this month. We literally drove through a river to get our BBQ trailer to the Meadow Barn – it felt like a true adventure! Then Wedding Guests could either opt for the footbridge or take the skip stones across the river for an unforgettable entrance! This venue offer a blank canvas for couples to truly make their day their own. The Green is steeped in history, it was originally built in the 18th century as a flax and corn mill, Mark and Jenny have transformed this site into a charming escape for all sorts of gatherings. The cottages themselves are beautifully restored. And the surroundings are simply breathtaking - rolling countryside and fresh air, what more could you ask for? It’s handy to the Mourne Mountains, if you fancy a dander! The cottages were perfect for some of the wedding guests to stay in the night before and after the wedding. The venue also is a lovely for hosting relaxing retreats. The cottages themselves offer a peaceful escape, perfect for groups seeking a restorative getaway. We catered an extended retreat for 30 guests there in November, creating nourishing meals to complement the reflective atmosphere. And we are booked for another 3 retreats this year! We can't recommend The Green Holiday Cottages highly enough! Whether it's a quirky wedding, a relaxing retreat with friends or a family getaway, The Green Holiday Cottages provide the perfect backdrop.

The location is unspoilt with natural and spectacular beauty, the barn with its bar nestled at the foot of the mountains, delivers everything and more than you would expect and Jenny and mark are amazing , accommodating snd creative hosts. This is a jewel in County Down for weddings, corporate events and much more. Definitely one to consider for either a few days break or your next event. Just beautiful. Wonderful location Mark and Jenny have here on the Kilkeel River. I joined them for the stonewall building experience which is a fairly unique type of jigsaw puzzling. The venue would suit any small function with onsite accommodation and flexible spaces for gatherings.

  2. Mountain Ways Ireland ★★★★★

Mark and Jenny have created something special in the heart of the Mournes. Old restored stone buildings, wooden barns, a river running from high in the mountains slows down as it reaches mature forest. This is where you find the beautiful 'mill race' walk . Best of all is Mark and Jenny's hospitality. It has it all!

What a beautiful place to spend a few days nestled in the arms of the Mourne Mountains. Jenny and Mark are the perfect hosts making it their business to ensure you feel very welcome and at home at their holiday cottages. As an added treat we took part in the unique Stone Wall Building experience which all of the family enjoyed. Highly recommended !!

We have just spent a week in the 'Wee Cottage'. The Green Holiday Cottages provided a brilliant base for our week away, the fast pace of life slowed down as we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings - the quiet shattered only by the friendly goats saying hello as we explored the path by the river. The communial area was brilliant for small gatherings , plenty of open space. There were also some swings and a slide for the younger visitors. Our accommodation was perfect, Mark & Jenny have created a magnificent place to stay. Thank you for a great week.
