Highly recommend booking a hike with Peter. He was very helpful answering any queries before our hike of Slieve Donard and he made the climb more of an experience by stopping to tell us interesting information about the rocks, the mountains and the surrounding areas along the way. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and we felt very safe with him leading the hike. We also received a GoPro momento from Peter which is a fabulous keepsake! Don’t hesitate to book with Peter.

We walked the Brandy pad walk with Peter and Paddy as our guides on a very sunny Sunday last weekend. Peter was very organised and contacted us ahead of time to ensure we were all prepared and that the walk was suitable for the whole group. He was very knowledgeable about the Mournes stopping along the way with information on flowers, the mountains and birds. We all really enjoyed the day and would recommend to others without any hesitation! Thanks Peter and Paddy.

The most enjoyable hike I’ve ever been on. Peter and Paddy are experienced, knowledgable, patient, kind and have a great sense of humour. Spending 5+ hours in their company was an absolute pleasure. They had such great insight about the local heritage, fauna and flora. We felt very safe on the mountain and encouraged every step of the way. I’m already looking forward to the next opportunity to hike with them. If you’re thinking of hiking in the Mournes, Book Peter and Paddy as your guides. You won’t regret it!

Had a great hike along the granite trail exploring the systems by which the granite was quarried and excavated. I’ll be back for the full day tour with the quarryman’s lunch. Peter Rafferty twinkled us through the hike with understated humour, great insight , empathy and love for the land and the people who preceded us. It was great to see the tools matched with the rocks and glimpse how the quarrying was done manually. It brought the geology alive. I’ll be back to catch up with Peter again as much as the lunch. I have to discover the truth of the porridge in the sideboard.

Peter and Paddy were enthusiastic knowlegeable interesting and very patient especially as I know they are used to probably going much quicker. The walk really wouldn't have been as enjoyable without their expertise and anecdotes. Thank you for being there for all 9 of us raising mney for Cats Protection. Would definitely recommend using them. Tracy and Pete from the Isle of Wight x

I took part in a very enjoyable walk led by Peter Rafferty of Walk the Mournes on Bank Holiday Monday morning as part of the Back from the Boley festival. We headed off from Leitrim Lodge on a low walk to Yellow Water and then up towards the Red Bog and the Castle Bog. The walk was nicely paced for everyone in the group with time for stops, chats, history and nature talks, and lunch on Pierce's Castle with stunning views. It was a very enjoyable 4-5 hour walk and I highly recommend Peter and Walk the Mournes.

This was one of my best walks in the Mournes in an area which I wasn't familiar with. The Devil's Coach Road walk took us through a beautiful valley and then the climb up through the spectacular final section. Peter and Paddy again made this trip enjoyable, interesting, safe, relaxed and friendly. I would highly recommend anyone to do this walk with them. Louis Burns.
