   Wharfedale Premier previously provided an efficient service, but since changing ownership a few months ago, staff members have reported that the business has been plagued by customer complaints. My issue involves a lack of newspaper deliveries to HMP Hull for four weeks. When I raised this concern with the shop owner, I was told that the papers had indeed been delivered, but there was no evidence to support this. Fortunately, my bank recognised my concerns and issued a refund. I have contacted the prison and was advised to write to the governor to explain the situation. If the shop owner is accurate regarding the deliveries, the only other explanation would be that the newspapers were stolen by members of the staff at HMP Hull. While I understand that mistakes can occur, I cannot tolerate dishonesty or a failure to provide the service I paid for. The prison has assured me that they will investigate this issue thoroughly, as they are very concerned about the possibility of staff theft. Once I receive a response from the governor's office, I will contact the police. I advise caution when dealing with this shop. The staff members are courteous and professional, navigating challenging circumstances under the new ownership. However, the owner/manager himself seems untrustworthy.

   There is something fantastic about a busy shop that has lots of great products, such as made on the premises rolls and £1 packs of penny sweets but also Moose Juice and trendy gins, and friendly staff. From my visit I think the regular customers know they have a great local shop and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
