I recommend you do not send your child to this school. They have a sexist uniform policy and a thing called Roll Call. Roll Call was a torture method used in WW2. They have brought it to the school for 2 main reasons. 1. They are scared of the upcoming Ofsted review! 2. They are trying to kick out the ‘naughty’ kids, by having bad behaviour points added up, so they can be expelled! Overall apart from that the school is alright!

As a year 8 student, I find this school very hard for me since I can't get peace with people and I'm just sat there struggling with everyone talking pure shit about me not to mention people getting in the way of what I wear, say, do and if I'm in a relationship.. I can't find many people decent and I only have a few friends in his school since most people are fake and give me dirty looks. I don't want to keep living like this with people threatening me or spreading lies and even if I'm sick or crying trying to get help everyone calls me an attention seeker so I can't do anything without comments.

a close one i met online studied here and he was constantly bullied by people everyday. he was autistic and treated horribly here. the school counsellor leaked information to his abusive father about himself and everything. he's gone now. please improve whatever trash you have there; address your bullying problems so nobody else would have to go through what he did. he deserved better. you guys are horrible and irresponsible.

The pupils behaviour is utterly baffling and wild they don’t have any respect, I feel since the school had gained a new head teacher the school has dramatically and seriously declined. Back in my day when I went to the school the school was an amazing place to go however now I feel the school is quite the opposite. This school really needs to improve I am seriously disappointed.

I have to say Mrs S Whitlock has been absolutely Amazing in how she's helped our daughter transition into her new school, the support has been brilliant and nothings been to much trouble. With any school is bullying which our daughter has had and has been dealt with immediately we can't say anything negative of her head of year she's been outstanding for us and our daughter. First school to really show they care and follow words with actions.

This school doesn’t care about your mental health or if you’re struggling all they care about is STEAM and how there school is represented, like the appearance of their students like if they are wearing the right uniform, shoes, skirt, tie and if you are wearing jewellery this is an honest review of my experience they deal with things in the wrong way do better you freaks

I really enjoyed my time at Bourne (I left recently) and I was content there for the whole 5 years. Most of the teachers were great and the head (Mrs Watkins) tries to do what she feels is best for the school, even if the students don't always agree with that. I must admit that there was a huge focus on uniform, though I actually liked wearing it, and that the underneath of the tables were disgusting. I never came across any major instances of bullying. The food in the canteen was good. I can't speak about the behavioural system as I was one of the "good kids" and never got into trouble. However, when watching others disrupt the lesson I feel like sometimes they could have been dealt with more promptly instead of being given countless warnings etc. therefore majorly interrupting the lesson and what the teacher was trying to teach as they were focussing on the naughty kid, trying to calm them down. (I especially noticed this when I was lower down in the school, perhaps the kids in question had become more mature by Yr 11, I don't know) Some of the reviews on here by other students I feel are overly negative. I definitely enjoyed my time here and ask you to not disregard it completely

I was at Bourne for year 7, 8 and part of year 9. There was some really good parts, and some not so good. The good: - A good number of incredible, supportive teachers (particularly Burns, Harper and Jakob in the humanities department) - Mr Harper in general - incredible teacher who made me love RE - A relatively low amount of bullying (at least from my standpoint) The bad: - Severely underfunded (however this is not at all the school’s fault) - Sometimes more than 30 people in a class, which meant teachers struggled to control all of us (not their fault) - Some rather unpleasant members of the school community who were not always dealt with, both in class and out (due to an in theory very good behaviour system that wasn’t always implemented) - A lot of certain lessons (such as MFL and humanities) were spent dealing with behaviour, which was not the fault of the teachers but incredibly iritating If you’re considering sending your child to Bourne, you should consider it may have some things to be improved on, but is in retrospect a good school which I enjoyed my time at.

I sent my children there and it was a nice little school with just over 800 kids. The school was very friendly but I do admit there was favoritism with the uniform.

If you are a student needing support such as extra time or needing a reader in exams, then judging from my experience this is not the school for your children. The teachers tell you just before your exam that curtain things have changed and when you confront the teachers at parents evening, they shift the blame. Also if you are a student and have been bad then school put you in "isolation" which is where you have to face a wall in a very small area, which doesn't help in anyway and it just adds to the anxiety. I am a dyslexic student and have always been put down in a shameful way about it and the school didn't help at all. However some of the teachers at this school were amazing and adjusted to the students human right and went above and beund to help me and others, this is Mr Paige (my English teacher) and Mr Clarke (my science teacher)
