Very good nursery, my son loves spending time there. He is very fond of Liam on hi5. Liam is very caring to the children no wonder all the children are “crazy” about him, my son included.
Great nursery, daughter loves it here. Always happy to go in and all the adults know her by her name even if they don't work in her room. She is always very happy here and settled so quickly. She gets excited to see some members of staff which she seems to have made a bond with. Usually Jackie and Alex.
My little one has recently started Nursery at Tops. He didn't have the best start due to illness but the staff were fantastic with him. It was great having daily handovers at pick up so I knew how his day was. I also loved the photo updates during the week that highlighted some activities he enjoyed participating in. I've been very pleased so far with everything.
Amazing friendly caring nursery. Made going back to work easy as they keep you informed and updated. My grandson goes in smiling and comes out smiling. They are super helpful with sorting out admin stuff as I was useless at it. He loves all the staff especially the ladies.......... even the staff in the other rooms that are for the older children are chatty and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. I feel at ease leaving him while I work knowing he is having a great time. The last year has flown by tops was definitely the right choice.
EMERGENCY BOOKER - I contacted Tops Day Nursery looking for a emergency day space for my toddler as we were travelling to Portsmouth for my mothers funeral the following day and had been let down with our childcare arrangements. The office team at Tops were very quick to respond and were thankfully able to facilitate us in the Cosham nursery. Although we were only coming for one day, the nursery was very thorough in enrolling and learning about my son's likes and needs, etc. I was apprehensive as to how he would react to a new space and people, however we found the nursery very welcoming and my son was very happy to go inside with the caregiver and settled in immediately. When I picked him up in the afternoon he was in great spirits and spoke about the wonderful day he had and all the activities he did at his "special nursery".
My children have been with Tops for many years. I've seen lots of different managers and staff through that time and I'm incredibly impressed with the current team at tops Portsmouth and the culture they have created. The staff, including Simon the manager, know all the children really well. They are warm and welcoming and the children feel comfortable in the environment. There are always a range of activities, indoor and out, which help the children understand the world around them (including different cultures / viewpoints). They develop skills while trying new things, the staff listen to the children's interests and use that as a jumping off point for new activities. Forest school, cooking school, stay and plays, parent feedback sessions and clothes/toy swaps are all great to have. Where we have had issues, emotional and illness, they have been handled well, with humanity and professionalism, shared decision making and excellent communication. I can't fault the current team, we think they are brilliant. Thank you to everyone at Tops Portsmouth.
My son is with this nursery and he has blossomed into a confident and funny young man. The staff are excellent, good communication and my son looks forward to coming in every day! Would recommend!
My 2 year old son and 1 year old daughter attend Tops in Cosham and I cannot fault them. My son is always so happy to go and when he first started this wasn’t the case. Now he asks to go on his days off. His speech has developed massively. The variety of activities is amazing more than I imagined he would do. My daughter has settled in very quickly and gets super excited when we get to the door. I would recommend this nursery to anyone they have looked after my children as if they are their own and I’m so grateful at how caring and attentive they are. Faultless setting for little people to thrive in.
All the staff from the admin team, chefs and of course the nursery care givers, are approachable, friendly, give time to parents and all amazing at their jobs. My sons confidence and development has come on so much and it’s lovely to see as well as family and friends noticing. I couldn’t recommend Tops Day Nurseries Portsmouth enough.
