We picked this solicitor because the quote was cheap… and now we fully understand why. The reception staff greet you with the friendliness of someone who’s just been told their lunch break is cancelled. Angry, blunt, and absolutely allergic to customer service. The estate agent gave them clear, simple instructions — yet somehow the first thing they did was try to upsell us in a way that felt like being chased by a salesperson at a market stall: “No thank you” apparently translates to “Try again but more aggressively!” Trying to contact them is like trying to phone a black hole. And getting the actual solicitor’s details? No chance. I’m still not convinced the solicitor is a real person — feels more like a mystery character they keep locked in the basement. Cheap quote? Yes. Stress-free? Not even close. Next time I’ll pay more just for the luxury of someone answering an email before the next ice age.

An abysmal company who have caused our property sale to collapse. Understandably, they requested our buyer to prove funds. They then - after a significant delay - requested proof from our buyer again - and we were told they had the proof they required. Following a short period of time, we were informed they had asked our buyers for further proof of funds. Sadly, we’ve now lost the house we were buying as a result of their actions and they have provided no information or explanation to our solicitor as to what is going on. A company to absolutely avoid - they appear to be chaotic in approach.
The sale of our property fell through at the absolute final hurdle, with the buyer quoting that the only reason they have pulled out is due to the unprofessionalism of Key Legal. Extremely slow, unresponsive, and have cost us a sale. I also used them when buying my house, and they took so long to carry out initial searches that the new-build sellers pulled out and it took me having to negotiate and persuade them to sell to house to me if I could speed up Key Legal - it would have lost me the purchase of my current property if it wasn’t for my willingness to apologise to everyone involved on Key Legal’s behalf. I would avoid at all costs.
