I did an online quote and then I called to discuss this quote on Thursday afternoon (30/10/25) at 4.42pm, no one answered. I then called at 12.44 on the 31st, gave the online quote reference to the person who answered and they said they couldn't help me and that the members of staff in the team I needed were all busy. I was told would get a call back. No one called. I needed to get some insurance cover by Sunday, so I'll go elsewhere. Their competitors are open for longer in the day and/or open for a few hours on Saturday. It's probably for the best I go elsewhere because if they can't even respond promptly to sales calls, they are probably even worse in the event of a claim.

We had a great experience getting a quote set up and being guided through the process. Stuart was awesome!!! I reached out to about 5 insurers and he was by the far the nicest and best to deal with….not to mention the cheapest :-) Our insurance needs were also a little more complicated than others as we were insuring a Grade II listed, thatched property as a second home…with us being resident in the US. Other insurers were not able to accommodate us, were more expensive and wasted our time. I was often on the phone for an hour for them to tell me at the end or a day or two later that they were unable to provide cover because it was a second home or because we had oil fired central heating etc. Highly recommend Stanhope and Stuart in particular. I emailed Stanhope Insurance yesterday to request a quote and immediately got a response to say someone would phone me. Joel rang this morning but I was engaged so he emailed me to say he'd tried and asked me to return his call. I did so and James answered. Joel was engaged so James offered to help. I told him I was looking for a quote for Contents Insurance for a flat with a 100% flat roof. He was very personable and extremely helpful and he made the whole process of setting up my insurance really easy - it was all done and dusted in a couple of hours and at a very good price. I had occasion to query a couple of things on the emailed documents when they arrived but James was on the telephone when I rang. Ben answered and he was very helpful in agreeing to get James to ring me back - which he did promptly. He answered my queries straightaway. I definitely recommend Stanhope Insurance.

Having had our Buildings Insurance cancelled immediately on telling our mainstream insurer that we were having work done on our property with no alternative cover being offered, we urgently set about looking for a policy that would cover us. One company quoted online but needed to consult underwriters - luckily we did not wait for them as they got back to us several days later! Once we found Stanhope we began to relax. Although it was late afternoon when we rang, Stuart was very professional and reassuring and we had cover in place by the end of the day. What a relief!
