    My dog Nellie was rushed to a specialist Vet’s with suspected meningitis. Vets suggested a full MOT as she was limp. Feeling content that we were insured we proceeded. Didn’t skimp on payments! Went with who we thought were a reputable company. Total cost £5700. Excess £67 - expected. Additional excess 20% due to her being 6 years old…. £1135 (jeeeez) Looks like I’m eating beans on toast for a while… Continue reading… Additional excess for MRI scan…£1271 So out of a £5,700 claim. You’ve managed to only payout £3,270. In my opinion this has been miss sold and was very misleading at the time of checkout. After paying for both my dogs for 6 years. Nellie’s first claim. What’s the point in insurance. Very let down and disappointed. Would not recommend.

    I honestly don’t have any words to describe how amazing this pet insurance company is! I recently lost my dog and had to put through some claims through this insurance company - they liaised directly with my vets to put all the claims through, I had to ring the insurance company a few times to check whether the vets had sent the claims through and every time I rung the customer service was amazing! My first claim was processed and settled within 4 hours which was the largest amount, and then the other two took a week to be processed and settled, and payout was in about 3 days as well! I even got a refund on my monthly insurance that I had paid as I had paid too much - honestly couldn’t recommend a better company to deal with through the whole process - all the staff on the phone was so lovely and would definitely recommend purely pets in the future to other pet owners! ❤️

    Awful and misleading pet insurance. Tried to claim for dental work. Called the customer service team who advised he needed to be insurance for 1 year before I could claim on dental procedures. I was insured for 3 and was told he was eligible. This was a lie and I was denied his claim. Because the vet had checked his teeth within 6 months I wasn’t able to claim. This is outrageous as in order to know he needed dental work my vet had to assess my dog. This company is a scam and have no interest in helping they are here just to take your money.

    Needing to go through admin when your best buddy is feeling rubbish is never the most appealing thing, but the process with purely pets took the stress out of it. A few forms, completed easily and quickly, a copy of the invoice from my vets and within 24 hours I received an email informing me my claim would be paid. I researched pet insurance companies before signing up to purely pets and went with them due to good reviews, I'm happy to be able to add another.

    My personal experience with PurelyPets has been great. Never needed to claim up until my dog was recommended to have several large lumps removed from around his leg joints. Fortunately the lumps were fatty but because of their location, it was recommended they were removed so as to not cause any mobility issues in the future. The claim process via the PuryPets website was really simple. I tracked the progress and received email updates at various stages. There was no quibbling with anything and I received the full amount excluding my excesses. The whole process took around 3-4 weeks which I think for these things was really quite quick. I’m a completely satisfied customer.

    We made a claim because our dog became ill out of hours and had to be put down. They took weeks to email then wanted unreasonable details. We provided them with the vets FULL history, then they wanted to know how much was the pet plan he was on..you know the one one for his jabs and 6 monthly check ups. What has that got to do with the claim. Never in a million years would I use this company. Still weeks after our beloved boy passed away we are still dealing with the claim. Incredibly poor.. Oh and I love the if you dont reply in 7 days we will close your claim attitude..

    Was easy to set up and for them to take my money every month. I ended up putting in a claim as my dog got very ill which was over £1200 to solve they told me it could take up to 4 weeks to get the money back which wasn’t a problem, I spoke to them again on the 5th week to say the money would be back into my account on the Tuesday of the following week. The day is here no money and when I’ve called them they said they never said this they said it would be processed that day. When I explained all they said was sorry and nothing more they could do. Also I asked to speak to a manager and they turned around and said nobody was available after basically calling them out and a few minutes of back and forth I got passed onto a manager for her to escalate my problem and said it could take yet another week of waiting Never again will I use this service they quite happily take your money but looks like they don’t want to pay out when they should and am still waiting for the money to be paid out

    Don't bother with this company! Very poor experience of claims handling, it has now been a month since my pet had an operation and they have told me that it will take a further month to resolve, even though they have all the information and it is straightforward. They are trying to blame the vet for not providing the information quickly but the vet completed their bit 10 days ago and it is going to still take 4 more weeks from today. Awful service, my advice is to go somewhere else!

    Very quick to take the annual cost from credit card but when canceling the policy on 16th September after 3 weeks cover advised 5 to 7 working days for a refund, called today to see where the refund was to be told 'they're working on payments for 27th August!!' BAD customer service, very apathetic attitude from the person in CS. I wonder why it takes so long for a refund to be processed in this digital world. Maybe so many people are doing the same as us?! Will not use this company again and suggest potential customers steer clear.

    Poor experience. We swapped because of the competitive premiums a few years ago. However when after a few years we had to make a claim it took over 6 months for them to settle with our vets. Their communication leaves a lot to be desired. They lost the claim we had to resubmit and then they quibbled and refused to pay for essential treatment. AVOID pay the extra for the premiums with a reputable company. Our new premium has gone up by £35! I will be cancelling our policy just as soon as can speak to an operator only been on hold for 30 mins so far
