Had a great experience with my little boy who went from 12 - 23 months. He has developed nicely and was always been well supported by the staff. Great communication from the nursery and easy going. Was pleased to find a stable staff base as the children rely on familiarity. Would highly recommend.
My son attended Tops Newport on the Isle of Wight from 2019 - 2023 and had a wonderful time there. He thrived and we were really happy with the nursery. Unfortunately, our daughter has not had the same experience. During the year she spent at Tops Newport, she was regularly placed in a bouncy chair until we addressed it with staff. She also suffered serious chafing and discomfort after being placed in a nappy many times too small for her. This happened again a month later despite us complaining to the nursery and an investigation taking place. Staff turnover is worryingly high and there is a distinct lack of experienced staff. There is a compulsory meal charge and you are charged for 'sundries' that includes nappies and wipes, despite parents being expected to provide these for their children. My daughter cried whenever she had to go. She even started saying "no nursery" when we drove past the road. She is in a new setting and the difference in her is incredible; our happy, confident, chatty little girl is back and we're so sorry we couldn't remove her from Tops sooner.
Throughout the past three years, both of my children have been enrolled at Tops nursery, and one of them continues to attend. During this time, I am pleased to express that my children have developed a deep affection for the staff at Tops and have felt a strong sense of belonging within the nursery community. The care and support provided by the staff have been exemplary, going above and beyond to meet the unique requirements of my children. Notably, one of my children has a dairy allergy, and the Tops staff have consistently exhibited exceptional competence and sensitivity in managing this dietary restriction. The dedication and attentiveness of the staff have greatly contributed to my children's positive experiences at the nursery. It is without hesitation that I recommend Tops nursery to anyone seeking an exceptional childcare facility. The nurturing environment, coupled with the staff's commitment to meeting the individual needs of each child, makes Tops a standout choice. The staff's ability to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere, where children feel like valued members of a close-knit family, is truly commendable. The staff are fantastic and very supportive. The focus dedicated by them on the children is absolutely brilliant, and the communication between them and the parents is great.
I can't recommend Tops Newport highly enough in every area. It obvious how much thought has gone into every element of creating a setting in which the children can thrive. The variety of activities and structured play, balanced with free play and exploring always seems the perfect mix for my little one who always comes home happy and invigorated. The meals are fantastic, offering a brilliant variety of 'real' food and flavours, and it's one less thing to worry about knowing my little one is having a nutritionally balanced diet. But the most standout selling point has to be the incredible staff. The team go above and beyond to tailor care to each child, I am always given a thorough handover and given the 1-1 time to discuss my little ones individual needs. The girls are always energetic, friendly, professional and nothing seems too much effort for them. I have complete confidence that my little one is in the best care he can be whilst I need to be at work, thanks to the amazing team at Tops.
My daughter started Explorers in July and she's loving every second she spends there! I was very apprehensive about her starting nursery and me being away from her upon going back to work after my maternity leave, but Tops have made the transition as smooth for both my daughter and myself as possible.
Extremely pleased with this nursery my LB used to go to when he was a baby up until he went to school, and now my LG is currently at, I had to have her go to the same nursery. The staff are very caring, helpful and friendly. The whole team work so hard and go above and beyond for all the children in there setting. The activities and resources they have at the nursery are absolutely brilliant. They are always trying to gain more resources and ideas so it can be the best for our children. They have so much for the children and forest school. This nursery works well for me along side my job because I have a monthly rota, this allows me to be able to work, so I book in my daughters hours each month which is never a problem. I can’t fault anything. Highly recommend And can’t thank this Nursery enough. I will be devastated when my LG goes up to school.
Fantastic Preschool. My daughter loves it here, has made great relationships with room leads and her key worker as well as making lots of friends. Flexible hours works really well when we was on a changing shift pattern, Opening hours were brilliant for us too . Lovely staff, very accommodating.... Highly recommended by us!
