Well, self referred and was offered counselling, but then my Counsellor realised I could benefit from EMDR. I have to say she was brilliant, professional and compassionate. The EMDR process worked really well for me (I realise it might not be the right thing for some people). After having spent many years trying to get help that was fruitless, this has been a revelation. I am very grateful.

I completed four therapy courses with Talking Therapies (two group sessions in 2019 and 2022, and two 1-to-1s in 2024 and 2025), each one tailored to what I needed at the time. Before starting my most recent course, I hesitated to reach out again, knowing I had already had three courses with them. But as soon as I spoke with someone at Talking Therapies, I felt welcomed and at ease. I am incredibly grateful for the support I have received. I now know that help is available if I ever need it again, and that brings me such relief.

Absolutely awful. I was triaged in August (after two calls being cancelled and rearranged) and it took until late November for someone to contact me about a councilling appointment. There was only one telephone consultation left in 2025. I was told that face to face appointments would not be possible (i was told previously it would be) i ended up asking to be removed from Talking Therapy altogether and the guy basically just said "suit yourself" (not quite in those words) and we ended the call DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE AT ALL COSTS. Luckily I'm not in a critical mental health situation but for those people who are close to the edge this service could push people over the line. Please seek private treatment if you can afford it and if you can't then speak to your GP about other routes. There is help out there but this is NOT the service to use. Best of luck to everyone.

I recently completed the Compassion and Curiosity Course with Catherine and Kate through Talking Therapies, and it’s been a truly transformative experience. Their warmth, insight, and gentle guidance created a safe and supportive space to learn. Through the course, I’ve developed a “toolbox” of soothing techniques to help me navigate life’s stresses, and I now have a much deeper understanding of myself and my emotions. I’m so grateful for everything I’ve learned and would highly recommend Talking Therapies to anyone looking to build emotional resilience and self-awareness. Thank you ladies!

The therapy helped me to get to a point that I thought I was getting better as soon a I was trusting the process learning to cope but still needed help, they stopped the sessions as I used my quota and I wasn't a risk of myself or others . I was suggested I could carry one with a psychiatrist therapist.l cant afford it! Now feeling rather alone. I feel the cookie cutter program can't be helping people! Maybe use some personal center approach you may see real progress

My girlfriend referred herself here and they keep saying they’ve been trying to call her but she hasn’t had 1 call back at all! Complete scam of a company and they discharged even though they didn’t bother contacting her back

Been attending for about 6-7 weeks now and my scores show a decline in my mental state every week. The more I visit Talking Change, the more hope I lose. It is better for your mental health to not talk to them at all than to try get "help" from them. They will expect you to just be fine, just like that. They can't and won't actually do anything of any real substance. I usually leave this place crying.

Really bad. None of them pay any attention to what you actually tell them, my current therapist has horrendous breath like he eats out of toilets and I’m still getting appointments booked with him even though I asked for a new therapist 2, coming up to 3 weeks ago. All the scores they measure you on have gotten worse, much worse with my latest therapist. The worst thing is they genuinely don’t care about helping people, everything they say is designed to try and manipulate you off their lists in some way to improve their target matching. I’ve had a complaint in process for months because they’re so bad and I’m resigned to knowing it’ll be going to the NHS ombudsman now.

Thank-you to everyone concerned, from the initial phone consultation to attending a 6 week group with others, I would like to say Thank-you. Feel that I have learned so much about myself and others, and have the necessary information and thinking techniques to help myself regarding anxiety and certain phobias, the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend this service to others.
