Been here during Lockdown (Sep 2020 - Agu 2021). Its lovely back then. As an international student, this place has left me many memories about it. I got a room where I can see the girls are coming in and out from the school through bus (Mainly Lords and Ellie Rose bus). Also, unique incident is that a cat leisurely enters the receptionist area during summer, and the taste of ice cream truck is superb. Overall, so much memories are made here.

I have stayed here for my first year, its spacious for the budget however, the issues are the people living in it especially people above you running around at 3am slamming doors but to improve UPP should include in their contract about this issues and there’s weekly cleaner which is good she is fab! Make the lounge more accessible not just opening and making it pretty for “open days” (we do notice that as a current student living in westfield) put the TV on put some speakers students can use. over all its not bad but few upgrades especially with the money students are paying! Make it worth it! Make westfield great again it has potential! Make the car park accessible for everyone not just for people who has special needs how about everyone else? Its a massive car park and it can generate profit as well! I would love to stay in westfield again but cannot bring my car and park it near me! For whole 10 months I have lived here we never had a microwave as the day we moved in it was covered in mould but they never bothered to change it! Despite numerous email! Unless you have 8k in disposal yes i wouldnt recommend it for an average student! Go outside uni its cheaper! UPP wants money but the standard they treat students is appalling.

I was an exchange student from Germany during Trimester 1 2024/25 and moved into on-campus accomodation as I‘ve never been abroad nor this far away from home for such a long time and sought the security. My stay in Westfield Court was decent, but there are definitely some aspects worth pointing out and preparing for when moving here. Firstly, the rooms are completely empty upon arrival, with just a mattress and chair as inventory (imagine the enclosed images without everything apart from that) - students are required to buy and bring everything themselves and also need to plan how to get rid of their inventory upon leaving, which I consider quite double-faced for a university that requests its students to act „environmentally conscious“ on their websites and promotional material, knowing that especially international students like me can‘t take everything back home with themselves. Furthermore, the room was dusty when I moved in, and definitely not as maintained as promised in the accomodation portal (and yet I didn‘t make the worst experiences, as some of my friends found dead animals and rats in their rooms when moving in…). Pretty much everything pointed out by the other commentators here turned out to be true - paper-thin walls leaving you at the mercy of your flatmates; there were also occasional issues with heating (which is only provided from late October/early November on (!), if it works at all - my radiator didn‘t turn *off* while others didn‘t turn on), water (the shower and sink clog incredibly quickly) and the wifi being a bit wonky - the maintenance team was very quick and reliable in helping me with the former, yet I‘ve heard of friends who didn‘t receive a response to their enquiries for months. The condition of the kitchen area leaves much to desire in many flats I visited, with the cleaners being understaffed (I talked to the one of my flat about it) that is to be expected, but still not acceptable. Taking all of this into account, the price of £157 per week for a standard en-suite (I paid a total of £3150 for a 4-month stay as an international student) is a reach at best (for those with rooms in reasonable condition) and an impudence at worst (for those suffering from no heating and unresponsive staff to these issues). On the other side, the staff is kind and the 24/7 reception service plus security patrols are a comfort and relief for students who are in an unkown environment away from home for the first time. The layout of the accomodation is easily understandable and architecturally pleasing. My personal experience would rather warrant a 4-star review, but on behalf of the experiences of all of my non-commenting friends in Westfield, 3 stars are more appropriate and accurate. Give it a try for the first trimester if you are willing to pay the price after weighing in all the benefits and risks, and maybe move to a different flat off-campus with friends you‘ve made throughout your first trimester afterwards - I‘ve been to many friends‘ houses in the University Quarter (UQ), Tulip Student Living and The Trees/Ashcourt Private Communities near campus throughout my stay and many offer equal services and a more home-y feel for an equal/lower price.

I'm staying in a studio for over £10,000. They are very overpriced with no oven and an awful bed. There were no instructions for the microwave and I am still missing a piece for cooking in it. The table and chairs are ridiculous with no leg room so you can't sit there. When I first got here the radiator was hanging off the wall. I had to annoy people for months before they fixed it. My desk chair was also broken, I ended up getting my own one. Twice people from maintenance or security entered my room without knocking or warning, both times when I was in bed but it made me very worried about getting dressed. During the summer I was hoping it would be quiet and I could focus on getting my final project done instead many foreign exchange students were visiting. They were loud and set off an alarm that took maintenance and security hours to turn off because of the limited staff on campus. I have been told I need to move to a new building due to maintenance work, completely ignoring the inconvenience this causes me, especially as I am disabled and require assistance to move back and forth. There have also been issues with the drains that lasted weeks. Students got a few half hearted apologies but no compensation. The only good thing about Westfield court is the staff. Most are friendly and try to be helpful. Frankly if I knew everything about Westfield court last year I would have applied elsewhere.

My son studies here. The halls are reasonably equipped but very expensive in comparison to other universities halls of residence. The area nearby is a little questionable too but he is having a great time and the clubs on offer are varied. Easy to find though parking restrictions are in play.

A well designed architectural masterpiece to give students maximum comfort. Aside the study room, there is paino room, room for snooker, table soccer, table tennis etc.

Overall a great place for first year students to get used to the campus and living away from home however there can be issues with heating and the water facilities but it's a quick fix

The place itself is nice but actually living here is awful, never mind having to study here. I moved in in September 2021 and immediately did my inventory - we found we had a broken kitchen chair, a broken window handle, stains on the stools, a very unsanitary kettle and a huge chunk of the kitchen side was even missing amongst other things! The following day there was a sign on the window saying ‘waiting for handle parts’ and the broken kitchen chair had gone. One of our flatmates ended up buying a new kettle as we were brought another in vile condition also. This was the same months later - after 2 months, multiple of my flatmates went to reception to complain that we do not have adequate ventilation in the kitchen when cooking and that there were not enough chairs for everyone since this hadn’t been resolved - we were told that maintenance and repairs had nothing to do with them and later informed that they were not ordering parts for our window handle until more were needed - literally waiting for them to break in other flats. After Christmas, I had made multiple complaints on my phone about this and in the next couple days the window handle was fixed, however the same broken chair was returned. We fully broke it in half and called maintenance again to come replace it. This time they did. I also had (still have) a broken radiator. It is always cold at the bottom and clanking and making a vibrating noise very loudly at all kinds of hours (which keeps me up at night) the valve constantly being left at 0 now - maintenance (2 men) discussed infront of me how they would resolve this - they said they would ‘save themselves a long job’ if they did X - I regularly call them about the issue as it is still clanking and keeping me awake at night but they do nothing. They care about cheap and quick solutions, not what’s best in the long-run or for those of us who live here. I’ve also had flickering lights in my room many times but never resolved. Many of us have had no or fluctuating hot water and heating which wasn’t resolved for almost 6 months (people were told to put on jumpers, buy heated blankets and shower in the gym). I even have a friend who had sewage in her KITCHEN at one point - it took weeks of complaining before she was relocated to another flat as the issue persisted. There were also a few separate occasions when maintenance from UPP subcontractor allow themselves into my room without my permission, knowledge or consent (and they have no good reason to be there), including situation when I was asleep in bed and literally in the shower - this led to screaming and swearing at the man to get the hell out. The walls are paper thin (you can hear buzz of the mobile on the desk behind the wall, not to mention you will get full, unwanted insight to neighbours' sexual endeavours), endless safety door and corridors means that you keep experiencing door slamming for hours and hours during the day and night; students are allowed to have in each room own tv and sound system and can use it quite freely between 6am up until 11pm (and often using it outside of that hours, obviously). Evening and night disturbances are rather common. Students are drinking/smoking outside (including weed without any bother from the staff apparently - speaking of, one flat on my floor must smoke weed indoors because you can smell it very strongly coming from it - nobody seems to care. But it reeks) blasting 'music' through open windows, having shouting competitions and fights outdoor. 24/7 security (who I’ve never actually seen about) is not bothered much up until you give them a call and ask for an intervention, even then there’s no guarantee they’ll do anything. Communication with the Hub is challenging and takes substantial period of time to receive return emails. Offered incentives you should get when extending the contract for another academic year but only if you go for 51 weeks rather than 43 weeks. After weeks of no reply, I sent a follow up email saying I’m no longer interested.. they replied in half an hour with a contract.
