   Our organization is a Community Interest Company (C.I.C.). We initially engaged with Miss S in October 2022 for accounting services. In February 2023, we formally instructed Miss S to provide accounting services. Our fiscal year ends in January. Due to unsatisfactory service received from Miss S, we were compelled to terminate our engagement in July 2024. This decision was necessary to ensure timely filing with another accountant before the October 2024 deadline. Miss S's communication throughout the engagement was consistently poor and unresponsive, often with delays of weeks or even months. We repeatedly requested guidance on categorizing transactions within our accounting software (FreeAgent), but these requests were consistently met with suggestions for software training, which was not the required support. Despite paying £325 for onboarding and unnecessary software training (as we were already familiar with FreeAgent), we continued to experience difficulties. We were consistently assured that 'no question was a silly question,' a sentiment frequently reiterated by Fiona on various Facebook groups. However, upon termination, we were informed that our engagement primarily consisted of answering 'silly questions.' We were given a partial refund for "software training". These experiences significantly impacted our ability to effectively manage our finances and meet our reporting deadlines thus causing us significant stress.
