We were at the Village Hotel Pub & Grill last week and had a really disappointing experience. The food we ordered was awful, and I also ordered chicken bites for my 20-month-old baby. I clearly told them three times that this was for a baby. When the food arrived, it was covered in extremely hot green peppers! Thankfully, I tasted it before giving any to my baby. When I raised this with the staff, they simply said, “That’s how we serve the chicken bites,” completely ignoring the fact that I had made it very clear this was for a baby. Honestly, unacceptable. We won’t be going back and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Visited recently and wouldn't recommend, the service was slow considering there was only 3/4 tables in the restaurant. Asked for the kids meals to be brought out when ready and only half of the their meals came together had to wait another 10 minutes for the rest of it. The kids meatball and mac n cheese wasn't even meatballs - just a burger chopped up into it and the middle of the meal was cold so obviously just been microwaved. The rest of the food was ok but nothing to write home about.

Went for a special valentines offer of overnight stay and £50 towards food off the menu or 2 free steak dinners and a bottle of wine. We ordered an optional starter. The hotel has been refurbished and to a very nice level. The room was spacious, and the bed and linen were exceptional and very comfy. The main bar is cosy, and there are a few large screens showing sports. It's a top dollar priced bar, 2 double vodka and mixers £24. As the bar was busy, we were put in the main restaurant. It took half an hour for our £8 chicken tender starter to arrive. We had asked for garlic sauce and got bbq. They were cold, so we sent them back. They were replaced, and we got sour cream this time. Got that replaced by more but with spring onion in it. The steaks were cold and had to be replaced. It was a bit of a fiasco but was all sorted out. The staff are really nice and friendly, eventually getting us a good meal. We were given free wine and a refund based on the issues. I'd hope it was just a one-off issue as it spoiled our evening.

Lovely hotel, ample parking, friendly staff, sports bar was buzzing with footie fans and the food was great here. Great pool and gym facilities which appeals to many of the locals. Greatvselection of beers and beverages. Rooms are modern and have just received a refit.

The staff were friendly and the food was quite nice, wouldn't necessarily just go out the blue but if staying in the hotel its not easy to go - also you get the option for a deal by buying a food voucher in advance!

Overpriced and terrible food. Friendly staff. Burgers were tiny, fish was like a slice of rubber. Way overpriced for what you get. First time trying it, won't return.

Really friendly service, the food was good too. But personally I found it a little overpriced.

Over priced food , over priced drinks, poor selection of meals basicly burgers , fish and chips or some basic pub grub type offerings, now 14 £ for fish and chips / peas ... cold chips but plenty of them. Cheese burger and skinny cold chips £14.00. Very poor service i booked a table for 7:30 turned up on time. Waited for 20 minutes to be seated in a empty resturant. Then waited 20 minutes for some one to take our order (for drinks) (i had to go find someone !) Then ordered food when drinks arrived waited another 30 minutes for a hot cheese burger and lots of cool / cold chips. Ordered a pudding from a very limited menu and at £6 for some very sad cheese cake. Over all we had two evening meals at hotel and 2 breakfasts all of which were poor . At £15 each i would give breakfast a miss its a poor deal. Hotel nice, pool nice, gym good, handy car parking. But give food a miss / unless you get a special offer or huge discount.
