   Went there for an anniversary the atmosphere was amazing the restaurant had an excellent theme/look however the seating for two was a tad small and uncomfortable but the food made you forget about all that but the best bit was the service witch was incredibly welcoming. Everything was brought to us quickly. They often checked if everything was okay and they took a drink off our bill just because we didn’t like it and the best bit was they gave us a milkshake on the house just because we were thinking of getting it but decided not to. Thank you very much for incredible service poppy.

   Hickory's Shrewsbury: An Anniversary Treat & A Shoutout to Ellie! ​We chose Hickory's Smokehouse in Shrewsbury on a whim for our anniversary dinner, and we're so glad we did! It turned out to be a fantastic and memorable evening. ​While the menu isn't overflowing with options for vegetarians, the choices available are truly excellent. My husband had the delicious Veggie Burger, and I thoroughly enjoyed the flavorful Mac and Cheese. Both were satisfying and high-quality dishes, proving that a smokehouse can deliver great meat-free options. ​However, the absolute star of the entire meal was the Garlic Pretzel with Cheese. Seriously, if you visit, this appetizer is a must-try and completely stole the show—it was outstanding! ​Beyond the brilliant food, the service was truly exceptional. Our waitress, Ellie, was absolutely amazing. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our anniversary dinner feel special. She is a credit to the team and absolutely deserves a raise! ​We highly recommend Hickory's for both the delicious food (including the unexpected vegetarian highlights) and the five-star service. ​Rating: 5/5

   Friendly and welcoming staff and we were seated immediately, although we hadn’t booked ahead. Our dog was even given her own bowl of water at the table. Varied menu with something for everyone. The food was delicious and tasty and left you wanting more. Only downside is that I wish there was one nearer us in South West Wales.

   had a lovely time here today, Charles was our server and was polite, efficient and just generally great! We had lovely drinks from the bar and sat in the porch area which had a lovely breeze on a hot day like today, as well as a beautiful view of the river. The food came out fast despite it being quite busy in the restaurant and it was delicious! We look forward to visiting again soon :)

   This was our first visit to Hickory's and we were very impressed. We booked online and were able to choose from different available times. We had to pay a £20 deposit to book, but this may have been because it was new year's eve. There was also an option on the booking form to add any special requests, such as specific seating requirements. We booked for lunch time, so they were still serving their breakfast menu, which is available until 2pm (according to the menu). The staff were friendly and efficient, and the service was pretty quick. We ordered both off the breakfast and the main menu, and all dishes arrived together and were very enjoyable. We asked for the bill and noticed they apply an automatic 7.5% tip, so be weary of this. We were happy to pay it, so it wasn't an issue for us.

   Great experience today. Son's birthday and he loved it. Staff were great and all said happy birthday (even manager came over to wish him happy birthday). Food was amazing. The only sad point of the day was that I couldn't leave the place with a bucket of that amazing bourbon sauce. They keep that secret and safe. Thanks a lot everyone. Amazing!!

   Absolutely loved this place. From start to finish it was brilliant. We went in early afternoon midweek for a late lunch and do not regret choosing this venue. Colette, our server, could not have been nicer. She always had a smile as she checked we had everything we wanted. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was very nice, the milkshakes and other drinks were amazing and the complimentary water and popcorn whilst also being in the "movie theatre" was great for the kids. We all left happy and went back a couple of days later for an evening meal which confirmed what a great place this is. We recommended to some family to visit and they were very grateful we suggested they visit as they had an amazing time as well. All in all, we will definitely be back for more fantastic food and marvellous milkshakes.

   Fabulous burgers (we had a veggie one and the southern fried chicken one). The raspberry and mint lemonade was delicious. Great atmosphere, quirky furniture and decoration. Loved the drinks in jars! Noticed the blankets and hot water bottles for the outside seating area: an environmentally-friendly alternative to those gas heaters! Happy to recommend this place.

   Excellent BBQ. Nice “southern American “ atmosphere by the River Severn. The BBQ sauce is good and authentic. The brand Hickory boasts FIVE Generations of BBQ quality and perfection. They have signature drinks like their own Grape Soda and Lemonades and brews. You get complimentary water and sweet popcorn when you sit down. Service is good and quick. Staff is attentive, nice, and friendly. Recommend the BBQ platter if you have a big appetite or you’re with a big eater. The variety is worth it. It’s also a splendid place for a tea or lemonade or pint in the afternoon and brilliant milkshakes and desserts.
