Arrived on time, after being walked past about 5 times we made a member of staff aware we were waiting to be shown our table. Told to sit anywhere outside and they'll come to us. Waited a further 15 minutes so approached the bar to order a drink and remind them we are here for food, waitresses were next to the bar staff at the time. Waited a further 15 minutes and staff to ignore us about 5 more times so we left. Like the walking dead.

Went here on bank holiday with my partner and his family, beautiful place and nice atmosphere, the staffs were lovely and nice but the experience left me embarrassed! I had placed an order with my partner’s mom for food for 4 people. My partner and his parents food came first and for more than 10mins mine didn’t even when the order was placed at same time. Everyone was waiting for my food so we could all eat together but we kept looking but no sign of my food. My partner mom had to go ask only to find out they’ve forgotten about me. The food finally came and it looked and tasted like leftovers. I had order spaghetti with prawns as it’s was my favorite meal but that day I regretted making that order, it was so soft (overcooked or reheated for too long) it didn’t taste fresh or good. I sat there swallowing the food until I couldn’t handle it anymore. Left there hungry and angry but decided to keep my cool.

Lovely riverside pub with great service and a good selection of beers and food. We went a on a lovely sunny day and spent a few hours sipping drinks and watching the boats and rowers go up and down the river. Very nice and well worth a visit.

We were visiting Shrewsbury and looking for a restaurant with view of the river. This was highly rated. There was limited parking and we parked in the city center & walked across the Port Hill Suspension Bridge. The ambiance inside and outside the restaurant was lovely. The staff were very nice. We enjoyed the food and drinks.

We’ve finally found our favorite spot in Shrewsbury—and it’s The Boathouse! This place truly has it all: breathtaking views, a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and delicious food and drinks. The location is unbeatable, right by the river with picture-perfect views of the water and the bridge. On sunny days, there’s nothing better than sitting outside, soaking up the sunshine with a cold beer or cider in hand. It’s so peaceful watching the ducks and swans glide by, birds flying overhead, and people kayaking along the river. It really gives you that holiday feeling without ever leaving town. On our first visit, I tried lamb for the very first time and went for the Moroccan Lamb Tagine—absolutely packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. We also had the BH Burger, which was juicy, tasty, and very satisfying. The food overall was fantastic and clearly made with care. The staff were friendly and attentive from the bar to the table. The whole experience—from the scenic setting to the great food and top-notch service—made it one of those places you want to come back to again and again. Whether you’re local or just visiting Shrewsbury, The Boathouse is a must-visit. We enjoyed every minute spent there and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

Quality food on riverside, served by a host of friendly staff, creating a relaxed and dog friendly atmosphere for all. The menu was rich and varied with plenty of options for vegans and it tasted as if it had been cooked with a serious amount of love and care. Not your ordinary pub food - clearly the owners have invested in a kitchen staff trained with culinary expertise. The bar staff in the garden were approachable and friendly and worked together seamlessly as a team to get my order done. No hassle - simply pay for food and drink upfront and sit back, relax and enjoy the view.

Had a great afternoon sundown meal. The atmosphere was great and there is a lot of space outside in the garden. The boathouse sits on the river with a view of the grass terraces on the opposite bank. The food was good with fair portions and the staff were friendly and efficient. We were recommended by locals which adds to the appeal.

Located right on the river bank with great views of the quarry park and along the river. The car park is very small but there is street parking available nearby. The pub is quaint inside with a small bar which has a seating area. Walking past the bar you enter a small intimate restaurant area which is kept warm during the winter months. Outside is a very large area which has lots and lots of seating mostly under cover where you can have a drink or have something to eat as well. I have eaten here a number of times and always found the food to be high quality especially the steaks and the fish & chips. I can highly recommend the boathouse

Such a gorgeous spot along the river and even better on a sunny day! With plenty of outside seating, with option to book which I would recommend on a hot day, this space is a delight to spend an afternoon. The staff here are vibrant, enthusiastic and polite. Reasonable value price considering the location £11.70 for a pint and a gin. Food here is brilliant as well would highly recommend
