OK, but massive overdevelopment and cheesy plasticky feel are a giveaway as to what this is really about. Areas well away from retail areas are "OK" with good access for all people.
Nature in harmony with the modern. The Nene Wetlands Nature Reserve can be find near the Rushden Lakes retail park. There is a lake that you can peddle a swan or if your feeling more energetic you can go out in a canoe, but if like me your looking for a more leisurely activity you can take a walk in the nature trail. It follows the lake around and children can have fun trying to find all the carved wooden animals. At the far side behind the new cinema complex is a small area with climbing frames, spiders, slides and a few other things. This is a fun place to visit when dry, if wet take walking boots or wellington boots
Nice place to take your doggie babies. Can get a bit soggy but it was a pleasant walk we had.

Went on an organised Bat Walk yesterday evening. Had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Well organised and informative. Saw and heard a variety of Bat species. Would recommend. Booking is.easy, if unable to book online can actually speak to a helpful Human on the telephone.
Made for walkers, good, more attention to.the placements of hides, in some ways too organised, young children like to explore, just walking is boring. There is a play area for younger Shildon. Good toilet facilities, in the boating area. A good place for the family, therecsre enough food outlets to cater for most tastes.
Great place to walk and walk the dogs. Good variety of wildlife to see. Very tranquil. Lots of woodland to explore. Play area for little monsters to burn off lots of energy. Lots of wildlife to observe. Can hire canoes to boat around the lake.
