Irthlingborough Lakes is a very big, lovely, quiet, peaceful lake with lots of nature and wildlife. I recently went for some birdwatching and the results were incredible. I would highly recommend a visit here, if you're into nature or birds. And it's also free
Lots of cyclists, some going too fast! They are supposed to slow down when passing walkers, few do. Watch out for mopeds and modified electric scooters which can be a menace. Most of the side routes have been fenced off, so few options to explore. On the plus side the views can be seen as most of the trees have been felled.
A good variety of pleasant walks and nice spots for birdwatching. Have been lucky enough to see a fox on a few evenings. Can get muddy and wet under foot in winter well into Spring.
Used to be good but gradually the Trust are ruining it....don't get me wrong some of what they've done is great but now taking things too far. it's for the enjoyment of all and is a shared amenity, not just for the privileged few to do as they like!
Great for walks or cycling in all weathers. Decent path surface. Beware sometimes of dogs off leads which in inclement weather and jumping up on you can lead to dirty and wet paw marks on you clothing. Plenty of wildlife to see.
A lovely place to walk and see wildlife
Went for a evening walk with the dog. Lovely views, love looking at the wildlife but the main reason I go is to get my Highland cow fix, they are usually off in the distance but they were quite close to the fence when I last went so I managed to get some lovely photos.
I love to walk here at all times of the year. Often finding new places to go and side tracks to investigate.
