The grade ll listed Victorian water pump outside st Mary's church close to Beverly bar is a very ornate cast iron pump. It's still has its ornate handle on the side. Installed in the 1860s, it was made in London by Samuel owens. Called the enriched gothic pump case it was expensive (£24) and installed on the most fashionable street in Beverley. It is the only one of its kind in the north of England. Nicely painted, it was restored in the 1960s.
