   I never ever write negative reviews But I’m really disappointed with my experience at Claire’s this week. If I could mark 0 stars I would. I called in on Monday to have my daughters ears pierced, I was told there was only one piercer in store so would have to have one ear done at a time, which even though my daughter said was ok they advised against it, and we listened so with a disappointed 6 year old we booked in for the next slot with two piercers which was the Friday 10 am. Fast forward to today, we were at our appointment 15 mins early to find the store closed. We waited until 10:15 and the lady I booked with came to open the shop, looked at me and didn’t apologise for being late, even though the shop should have been open at 9am, just looked at us and said I can’t pierce you today. I explained I had an appointment she had booked because there would be two piercers in. She said well we’re down a staff member. I said I’ve done a 25mile round trip for this, could someone have not let me know. You’ve sent me multiple reminders for my appointment one being this morning why could you not let me know that my appointment couldn’t go ahead, she didn’t have an answer and just said I’ll do one at a time, I said I asked for that on Monday and you wouldn’t do it. She said just come back in 20 mins (we’re now 40 mins late for an appointment she booked) I walked off to find somewhere else to be pierced I was NOT paying for the poor service I was receiving. I ended up in Superdrug with the other people that had had piercing appointments before me at Claire’s this morning that were also let down. The staff in there were fabulous my daughter was at complete ease and didn’t even flinch! And it was cheaper!!!

   The kindest staff ever. I needed some help to find part missing for my old warming the lady was so helpful trying to see what could help. We didn't find anything to fit my old earnings but I am grateful for her amazing sweet approach! Thank you I will only add I purchased some earnings before, the service was always outstanding!

   Would have liked to have given a zero rating but not able to. My son had his ear pierced in August and last night I thought the stud had fallen off. It transpired the it had actually sunk into the hole. Went back to Claire's today. No help whatsoever. Tried to say he was allergic to stainless steel and advised me to buy either gold or sterling silver. Went to an independent piercer who had nothing nice to say about Claire's. The 'allergy' excuse is apparently their go to excuse. The issue is that they use a standard width earring and do not take into account the thickness of some people's lobes. The independent piercer corrected the issue by changing the earring to accommodate the width giving him more room at the back of his ear. They also advised to not twist the earring and not use the cleaning solution as once unsealed it is open to the air and germs. My advise would be to go to a registered independent piercer who has a good aftercare policy.

   I got my second ear pierced and a cartilage. Staff are very nice and friendly and they sound very reassuring. Piercing didn’t got infected at all. However, they have a lot of expensive things to buy and this place Might get a little bit noisy which might stress you out a little bit during ear piercing.
