I initially began my therapy journey in 2019 with Mick, following referral due the difficult loss of a close friend with the need to talk about loss, grief and the anxiety this brought. However, over time In session, I realised my personal ongoing battle with anxiety, low self esteem and lacking confidence in varying areas of my life were part of a wider history from my youth and factored in my mindset both in my personal life & career. I was also diagnosed at 21 with a progressive debilitating health condition known as muscular dystrophy and throughout adult life have found it difficult to accept the changes this brings. I have also worked in a highly pressured job since 2011 and needed guidance on navigating this combination which had come to create further stress in my life and relationships. I have always found Mick to be honest, proactive, reassuring, professional and empathetic in our work together when realising, analysing, discussing and processing my thinking and the areas in my life that require therapeutic strategies. Having attended 1-2-1 sessions, group work and outdoor therapy, there is much positivity and constructive help available from the sessions Mick provides. I am comfortable being open and honest with Mick and we have built a solid professional mutually respectful and supportive relationship in our work together. I highly recommend Mick and believe firmly in the power of therapy and the positive impact he brings to my life.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support and care I received from Michael. As a trauma therapist,he possess a remarkable combination of professionalism, empathy, and expertise that has been instrumental in my healing journey. From our very first session, Michael created a safe and welcoming environment where I felt comfortable sharing my experiences. He listened attentively and validated my feelings, which helped me feel understood and supported. This compassionate approach was crucial in building trust and allowing me to open up about my trauma. His extensive knowledge and skill in trauma therapy are evident in the techniques he uses. Michael introduced me to various therapeutic methods, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and mindfulness practices, which were tailored to my specific needs. These techniques have been incredibly effective in helping me process and manage my trauma. One of the most impactful aspects of my therapy with Michael has been his genuine care and commitment to my well-being. He consistently provided a non-judgmental space where I could express my emotions and work through my pain at my own pace. His patience and understanding have been a beacon of hope during some of my darkest times. In addition to his therapeutic skills, Michael has been a source of valuable resources and practical tools that I can use in my daily life. He empowered me with coping strategies and techniques that have greatly improved my ability to navigate stress and triggers. I have seen significant progress in my mental health and overall well-being since starting therapy with Michael. He has truly made a positive difference in my life, and I feel more equipped to move forward with confidence and resilience. If you are seeking a trauma therapist who is compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated to your healing, I highly recommend Michael His support has been life-changing, and I am incredibly grateful for the profound impact he have had on my journey to recovery.

An argument about secret internet spending with my other half led me to find Michael. This was over 12 months ago and I’ve been seeing Michael since then. During my first session with Michael he identified that my compulsive buying was a symptom of another issue and he was absolutely right. This initial problem I had is so much better, and it’s down to Michael’s help that I can say that. I’ve continued to get much needed help from Michael on other issues I have as my other half has a terminal illness and I recently lost a beloved pet dog. I wouldn’t want to be without the support he offers as I navigate the difficult course which lies ahead. Through our work together I’ve also been able to clearly see I have neurodivergent tendencies. It’s something I’d wondered about in the past, or whether I was just “odd”. Knowing that I’m not “the problem”, “being difficult” etc has really helped me. I can wholeheartedly recommend Michael.

Michael is an exceptional counsellor and psychotherapist. I have worked with him as his client for nearly two years. His skill and insight is in my opinion unparalleled. He has guided me to work with a complex range of issues which has in turn transformed my life. I know I will remain in contact with Michael for the rest of my life. Now as a trainee therapist I can draw on skills and experiences from my therapeutic journey that will enhance my own practice and benefit my clients. I can only conclude by saying that I placed my trust in Michael at my most vulnerable and it is was met with care and a positive regard all therapist should aspire to offer.

As a therapist myself I recognise the importance of quality therapy, not only in healing the past, but also for addressing issues in the here and now. Mick is a talented therapist, he has taught me that all therapy and counselling is not equal, some is more powerful and effective. I speak as a client of his and a therapist who previously worked alongside him. My experience is that lasting change can be made, he offers an environment to make changes that might have felt impossible. Mick creates a safe space where you won’t be pushed or judged, there may be appropriate challenge and encouragement, but that’s where discovery and change happens. I whole heartedly recommend counselling or psychotherapy with Mick

I started to see Mick for my issues with food (comfort eating) and low self esteem. We worked together through many things which were the root cause of my problems and the changes in me are amazing. The quality of my life has changed beyond my expectations. The unmanageable is now manageable and for the first time in so many years I can I am truly happy with me. He has helped me through some very difficult things and with a gentleness that made it possible. It is not easy to find someone you can truly trust with the things you find so uncomfortable to face but With Mick I found a therapist that I could.

I have seen several counsellors throughout my life for a variety of issues including depression, grief and addiction, I never felt it helped and I continued my downward spiral. Until I met Mick, who I felt understood me better than I understood myself right from the start. He made me feel at ease, safe, understood and listened to my story in a way that made me feel heard for the first time and accepted. I find it very hard to trust but his patience, experience and understanding enabled me to open up and look at painful experiences that I thought I had dealt with but was in fact just denying. Through the safety of this relationship and the skills and experience he has as a therapist, I have been able to unlock these feelings and allow what was inside out which has been incredibly healing. It does take willingness and courage but I could not recommend a better therapist to accompany you on this journey. I am now able to live life rather than exist, I have a brighter future and am no longer looking backwards and being defined by my past. I no longer suffer from depression in the way I used to and am able to enjoy and experience life without the use of substances. I don't think it is too big a statement to say he has helped to save my life and given those who love me a better mummy, daughter and friend and for that I am truly grateful.
