“Came to Brighton for a day trip. Was recommended this restaurant by a family member who had been before. Nice cosy old-school vibes. It was a sunny, warm summers day, so we sat outside. There was a range of dishes, but we went for the £27 for 2 course summer set menu, as it seemed a good value for money. I ordered raw rock oysters as starter. Got 3 fresh oysters which were fresh and juicy. Came nice and cold, with the mignonette and ponzu dressing. Delicious! Another person on the table ordered salt and pepper calamari and even though portion was small, with 3 large pieces of calamari, the taste was amazing and it was so fresh. The fish and chips were crispy and fish was flaky. Though again, could do with a few more chips. Tartare sauce was great! The mussels marinieres was exceptional. The sauce was extra creamy and goes well with chips. For the price of the set menu, its great value for money! Would highly recommend! There was bread that came to the table with delicious mackerel pate. But you will need to pay for a cover charge for this. Drinks menu was extensive. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend. Women’s toilet was up some narrow stairs at the top of the building.”

“Brunch was fantastic here. Food was great as well as drinks. We opted for the bottomless drinks, but as the restaurant was extremely busy was a little slow with topping us up but understandable. Friend’s steak wasn’t great but was replaced immediately. Other than that, food was so good we returned the next day before heading back home.”

Curry goat was amazing, my wife's pork chop was enormous, tender and beautifully cooked. My son's steak gorgeous and apparently the cheeseburger was the best my daughter has ever had. Fantastic staff too, so friendly and happy to answer any queries. Great local beers too. Great to see a small local place so busy”

“We had a table booked for 7:30 Wednesday 14th August for 4 people. We were seated in the courtyard and it was beautiful outside under the Jumbrella - the temperature was perfect : 3 of us had the chicken skewers to start and the chicken was so well cooked it easily came off of the skewer and the garlic butter was to die for. The other had the sharing platter for 2 (the fish one) it was a perfect size for a starter and for one person even though the rest of us “helped him out” . Portion sizes perfect. For mains we had 3 steaks and the surf and turf. Really generous portion sizes, quick service, food was DIVINE it was a shame to finish. We all had the same desert the chocolate mousse choux bun and even though nobody really had room for them they went down very easily!!! We will DEFINITELY return. The manager and all of the team were so attentive, friendly and professional it was a delight to be served by them. We loved the fact that it is a dog friendly restaurant and wish that there were more restaurants like this! Keep up the good work!”

As a solo walk in diner, I was made to feel so welcome, by everyone: mostly from Christian who goes out of his way to help you with the many great food choices while being honest. His charisma was great, made me laugh. It's testament to the ethos of this place is top notch!”

“A, quite frankly, sensational dinner at 64 Degrees. The tasting menu was brilliantly executed and being sat at in the heart of the action really makes for a wonderful dining experience. The chefs were fantastic and took time to chat and explain the dishes, too. You could feel (and taste) the passion. Personal highlight was the venison and birria taco dish which I can say was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The usual pairing wines weren't available but alternatives were well matched and complimented the dishes. The wine service was a tad slow but the house owned it and made up for it. A wonderful experience. Thank you.”

We had Riccardo (might be slightly wrong) but couldn't have asked for any more. It is slightly on the more expensive side but one million % worth it if you want the full experience. Staff are welcoming and friendly, service is always great. Good range of drinks available, and simple but delicious menu. Proper pub grub! The inerior is tastefully decorated, a lovely garden and a hugely popular teepee for rainy days at the rear. We'll visit again soon.”

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, Emily, which instantly made us feel at home. The food was absolutely delicious and clearly made fresh with care. A generous portion, with plenty of veg and just the right amount of gravy. I say at a small table outside, and the sun shone down on us. I enjoyed my visit here and trust you shall too. 5 stars for the food and the service. A high 4 for the atmosphere. Overall, easily 5 stars.”

Lovely welcome, delicious coffee (& the best cheeky bacon bap - I’d walked 2.5 miles so I decided I deserved it!) great views. Just a shame a couple arrived and had a phone conversation on speaker next to me, but that’s not the perch’s fault! My first visit. The best incentive to do a 5 miler a couple times a week!”

“Had a Sunday roast here at the weekend at is was up there with the best. The pork was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! Roast potatoes were crisp, salty goodness. The veg (cauliflower cheese, roasted carrots, greens, sweet potato purée) were all just as you’d want them. Great big fluffy Yorkshire - good stuff. And the gravy was thin but it packed a flavour punch and was served in a good quantity! If I could change one thing it would have been to swap out the purée for extra apple sauce, but that’s personal preference! My partner and friend were equally impressed with the vegetarian roast, however they were both slightly unsure of the veggie gravy which was orange, potentially carrot or sweet potato based. It was tasty - just unexpected. The sticky toffee pudding was really moist and flavourful! Personally I like it with a little less toffee sauce, or for it to be in a jug, but it didn’t stop us eating it all. Will definitely be back.”

“I think this must be fairly new as I have no recollection of this pub / restaurant. Thomas Paine has strong local connections, unlike Casta and Madge. He helped inspire the American revolutionary war and almost lost his head in the French one. Silly so and so. I had another Harvey's Sussex best bitter. One of three real ales on my visit. Very good. Up steep stairs finds a roof terrace. Must be lovely on a warm sunny day / evening. Free wifi.”
