“Very nice experience with good quality bikes. I got lost once or twice but it just made the adventure more rememberable. The bikes were very easy to work with and the gears changed with a click of a button. Very nice scenery 10/10 would recommend”
“Genuinely maybe the best 3 course meal I've ever had, booked the function room for a surprise 30th and was genuinely unbelievable. We had Riccardo (might be slightly wrong) but couldn't have asked for any more. It is slightly on the more expensive side but one million % worth it if you want the full experience. Food and service both 10/10”
“Stud farm campsite is one of the most beautiful campsites I have stayed on. The views of the south downs and the sea are second to none. The campsite is quiet and had respectful people when we camped. They have a toilet block and showers although as we up on top of the downs the water pressure was very low so not sure how good the showers were, toilets were clean and tidy... Camp fires were allowed but only off the ground which is understandable. The have on-site staff to help and bring firewood if you need. It's only a short drive to birling gap or the start of the seven sisters. The top of the hill can get a bit windy but if you prepare for it it's not a problem. Keep an eye of for spitfire flybys”
“We had an impromptu bar lunch here. Dog friendly. Gorgeous soup, tasty braised venison and focaccia bread which was honestly the best I've ever tasted..honey and fennel seeds. Lovely woodland walks around. Will now plan to come back”
“Visited for the pub quiz as part of a social group. First time have been in and was a really great evening. Good mix of people, good atmosphere and drinks well priced. The pub quiz was fun. Best part was the host, she was really entertaining and she’s a great front of house person. They seem to run quite a few social things so we’ll definitely be back.”
“Spent a lovely weekend at Firle Camp. The tent pitches were lovely and spacious with lots of room between the tents. The view up to the downs was beautiful and it was lovely and quiet - despite being not far from the main road there was very little traffic noise - just pheasants, owls and the nearby church bells. Very restful, peaceful and a great 'back to basics' camp.”
“Great for showing sports on multiple screens and a game of "toad in the hole". Very friendly atmosphere..”
“We stayed 4 nights in a ground floor double room. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was nice and spacious, bed was comfortable. It was hot week and they kindly put a fan in the room. The lounge is relaxing and comfortable with a nice outlook onto steyne gardens. The breakfast is amazing, can't fault it. Excellent choice and quality plus the service is top class. Staff are really nice and helpful, we didn't get everyone's names but big hi to Vicky and Tim. We will definitely stay again next time we're down that way from Essex. Best wishes Ian and Denise.”
“Ever been to High Brooms? No, me neither. Until today. Sunday Roast tourism takes you all round the houses. Today’s pit stop the Leicester Arms. Tip of the day: Pay the taxi fare before you’re out of signal range. The pub sits slap bang in the middle of Penshurst. Albeit Penshurst is so small it doesn’t really have a start or an end. In essence you’re between Penshurst House and Gardens and the Post Office, and opposite the town hall. The building is rustic with a warm village feel both outside and inside. Staff friendly, good toilet artwork and whole rolls of bog paper rather than the stingy dispenser nonsense - always a plus. Anyway, the roast. Oval plates that lip up at the sides with gravy up to a circa 2mm waterline leaving the hull of the potatoes and vegetables submerged. Two hearty slices of juicy pink sirloin and a Yorkshire pudding athletically perched on top. If art exists to be appreciated ad infinitum this installation was ripped apart in minutes. Devoured. 90 mins of travelling and an eating time shorter than a F1 pit-stop. Worth the visit? 100%. Washed down with a brownie that was warm, satisfyingly sludgy and had a thick slate of white chocolate inside. Lovely surprise. The menu quoted £8.50 the bill read £10. No complaints though, I would have paid £11 for it. All in a good day out.”
“Just revisited after a range of improvements have been made by the new owners. The hotel/bar/restaurant has a much better flow to it now and the bedrooms have been decluttered, leading to a much better look, with a place now for your luggage. Rooms seem really good value for the area. Would definitely come back again.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm welcome and professionalism of the team. The management and staff were incredibly kind, quick to respond, and always went out of their way to accommodate the needs of my family. We truly appreciated the help and friendliness of every employee we interacted with. The maintenance and security teams also deserve special mention — everything was spotless, well-maintained, and we always felt safe and comfortable. The property itself is beautiful, offering stunning marina-front views, free parking, and easy access to cafés, restaurants, and shops. The interior is stylish yet cozy, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay; from a well-equipped kitchen to fresh linens and great WiFi. It’s clear that the entire team — from management to maintenance — takes pride in providing an exceptional experience for their guests. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend this property for anyone visiting Brighton!”
“Had lunch here with some friends. Large popular pub and not ruined by a makeover. The food was very good and reasonably priced. They have special offers depending on the day of the week. The Harvey's beer was in good condition. It was a Tuesday and fairly quiet. I understand it gets busy in the evenings and at weekends. There is a large outdoor seating area if you like that sort of thing. Will definitely go back when next in Lewes.”
“Feels like a proper English country inn, with great atmosphere and friendly staff. There's a function room to hire (I was there for a party) and the buffet was great. I'd be tempted to go try the rooms and the main restaurant sometime.”
“Nearly always go in here for food when I visit my mother in Seaford. Simon and crew are extremely courteous and friendly and the food exceptional. All freshly made in house. They ran out of beef wellington yesterday and he quickly whipped one up for me. Doesn't come much fresher than that. Can't praise the quality or service enough. Thoroughly recommended.”
“Popped in tonight for a few pints. Bar staff were lovely. The gentleman (Stephen) behind the bar poured me a great Guinness 0.0. And the lady (India) was gorgeous and so friendly. Will definitely pop back to see them both.”
“Absolutely beautiful & quiet surroundings. Peacocks wondering around freely. Horses being taken for a walk all whilst we were having breakfast. Food was lovely too. Definitely recommend if you're looking to be in a natural setting & wanting to feel totally relaxed.”
“Fantastic stay with Camber getaways. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. I lost my headphones and they found them and sent them on for me. Thank you. I will always book through them when I go to camber now. Great, clean accomadation with everything you need in them.”
“The best Sunday roast I've had in ages. The lamb shank fell of the bone, there was no fat or gristle. The potatoes crispy and plenty of veg on the plate. We each had a large gravy boat full of delicious gravy. Also we had a large dish of cauliflower cheese to share. The staff were very polite and friendly. I would definitely go back again.”
“Excellent roast dinner. One of the best I have had. Sticky toffee pudding was 10/10 too. Old transitional pub decor with a real fire. Enjoyed my afternoon here”
“Lovely old pub in the heart of Portslade village. Good prices, lovely service. I went alone but chatted by the bar with a couple of people. Relaxing atmosphere during the day.”
“If art deco decor and floor to ceiling bay windows to die for are your thing, then Paskins Town House is the spot for you. My partner and I have stayed here numerous times over the years and we just love the laid back vibe, every room we have stayed in has been clean and well looked after and hosts are so friendly and welcoming. I couldn't recommend Paskins anymore!”
“The hotel arranged a wonderful buffet for sixty people. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Thank you.”
“Everything was very good. It was easy to check in, the room was clean and fresh, so were the beds and towels. We had a TV, tea and coffee facilities, a good shower, also an extra heater if it was chilly and even a hair dryer. It was very good value for money and the lady who met us on arrival was very friendly. The location was excellent we had a coffee shop and a pub plus lots of shops at one end of the street and a five minute walk to the beech at the other end. There was lots of independent eateries and bars within a short walk. We were also only about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the Royal Pavilion and the Museum or the Lanes and the shops. It was also on a very good bus route.”
“Very enjoyable experience, food & drinks was lovely with the view and water adding a beautiful dynamic to the old school vibe of the building. Definitely recommend a visit!”
“I just want to say that the latest review is totally outrageous just because a company closes for 1 hr for lunch for their staff to be able to take a break. We always tell our customers that we close between 1pm & 2pm we are one of the only kennels in the area that actually open on Sunday afternoons. This person proceeded to climb our wall and sit on top (as photo shows) of it trying to intimidate myself while I was eating my lunch. As I explained to the customer I am insulin dependent diabetic and need to eat if we didn’t close for lunch I would not get the time. My Manager uses the hrs lunch to groom & or feed any dogs that need it. The owner was off site and I told you she would be back later( 5pm.) I can guarantee that the dogs were not dehydrated nor were there water bowls empty as I had only just been round the dogs checking them & filling any that were low before I went to lunch. I am very proud of we’re I work and we all strive to make it a happy place for all our guests to stay it has upset us all to read this person’s review. I shall be reporting it as I felt very threatened and intimidated by them.”
“Shirley is fantastic. The house has bags of character and is handy for buses (don't bother trying to park in the town centre); we left the car in a secure, council-operated car park that was way cheaper and cleaner than the NCPs. Rooms are nicely turned out, but bathroom/loo are shared and bedroom doors don't lock. I'd definitely go again.”
“Stayed here for a couple of nights with my friend. We were bowled over with Michael & Paul’s top class hospitality, friendliness & attention to detail. Beautiful room with a comfy bed & everything you could ever need including phone chargers, umbrellas even plug adapters . Lovely guys & I’d highly recommend staying here when visiting Brighton. 10/10”
