“Amazing location for walking. The friendliest of welcomes. Very nice setup with guest area for making drinks and also a nice place to sit and enjoy the views, and on this occasion the new lambs. Everything you could need. The room was beautifully decorated. Dinner was by far the best quality of the whole trip. Hearty portion too. Immaculately clean rooms. Breakfast was carefully prepared according to request taken the previous evening. If you’re looking for a standout stay we suggest you book now.”
“Excellent place for a meal or cake, breakfast is outstanding and the Ice Slices are the very best I've ever had! Delicious food, friendly staff and beautiful location. Highly recommended!”
“Absolutely superb. Not only did the house and location exceed my expectations, there is a stunning view. I stopped here as a convenient work pit stop, and I will most definitely return for leisure. The house is immaculately clean, homely and caring touches. High quality furnishings and fittings, no stone unturned. extremely good value for money, it actually felt like a holiday. I also cant remember the last time I stayed somewhere with a decent television.”
“Very nice hotel room. We had a twin which was on the second (top) floor. We hadn’t realised it was part of / above a pub. Our stay was midweek so it was quiet, it may not be at the weekends as we were above the street and entrance. Excellent service, nice room with little welcome gift. Nice and central for a visit to Bristol.”
“Great wine tour at a really lovely location. Howard was an excellent host and guide. The wine is superb! Thank you all.”
“We shamelessly come here at least once a week and really like it. My 2 year old is happy to play without me in the soft play and the people who run it are always very friendly and professional - they have even offered my little girl a sticker when she was kicking off about wanting a yoghurt to help distract her (2 year olds are brutal!). The toilets are clean and the changing facilities are very good. The food is good - they have a small kitchen but actually do really well considering the space they have and they have a decent, varied menu. Would currently highly recommend the breakfast wrap and it’s great value at just £4.50. I am incredibly grateful that this place exists as I don’t know what we would do if it wasn’t here, it’s become a regular staple in our routine and I hope my daughter continues to enjoy it so I can keep enjoying my coffees while they’re hot!”
“Without fail, it is always a fantastic experience. The film programme is expertly put together, ensuring something for everyone while remaining culturally stimulating and relevant. Independently run, this is the best cinema I’ve ever been to; it’s worth the 30-mile round trip for each visit.”
“A very special time spent with a particularly fine and charming hostess, Patricia. In a delightful Georgian House originally owned by the renowned Fry family, set in a lovely position with attractive garden and country outlook and within minutes of the centre of the historic Axminster town square while enjoying very easy access to all the various amenities in the surrounding areas. Excellent accommodation and an outstanding home-cooked breakfast is just part of the many delights you may be sure you will experience at Compton House.”
“Such a beautiful place to stay! The staff were more than welcoming and nothing was too hard. The boho room which we stayed in was immaculate with the most beautiful interior and very clean. The service was excellent with fresh towels, tea, cups and coffee every day and free refrigerated sparking water, still water and milk. The most amazing part of our stay at St Michaels was the buffet breakfast which is definitely the best I’ve ever had. Located in such a stunning area, I couldn’t recommend a place more.”
“The best meal out in a very long time. 6 of us booked Saturday lunch, all of us where blown away but the perfectly cooked food, gorgeous setting and wonderful staff. Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended… we will be back! Thank you so much to the Royal Oak team!”
“Fantastic accommodation and superb hosts with such attention to detail to make your stay extra special. Quiet location, huge grounds to explore, ample parking, very comfortable cottage that's cosy with lovely personalised touches. A real treat!”
“Nice little club run by good people brilliant”
“Beautiful wedding venue! I got married here and had a wonderful outdoor ceremony, and everyone commented on how great the venue was. Great rooms for our guests too, and the staff were lovely and super helpful. Food was great! Lovely space, and I can't wait to come back for our anniversary ❤️”
“I absolutely love bringing Little City to Failand Village Hall. Such a great space, loads of parking, beautiful grounds and the addition of the play park has been wonderful!”
“The staff and facilities are all aligned to exceed expectations and it delivers. The listing states its a Bed & Breakfast. However, it performs like a 5 star hotel without the price tag. Book with confidence, this place is seriously good. The only thing I did not like, was having to leave.”
“A really pleasant and well run guest house/B&B. It is a 15 minute walk into Bath centre but sits close to wonderful parks and country. There are also bar, restaurant and convenient shopping facilities nearby. The room was spacious with a really nice bathroom, luxurious linen and towels. Very, very clean. really made to feel welcome without being intruded upon. Excellent place to stay!”
“I booked a private party for my wedding here. They happily accommodated 30 people, and we could have had up to 60. The appetizers they selected for us were all delicious and accommodated diet restrictions as well. Highly recommend for parties, meals, or a quick drink or coffee with some of the friendliest faces around!!”
“Great food, friendly staff, very welcoming”
“Rialto Weddings- We married here ourselves before returning as photographers and filmmakers. Elegant, atmospheric, and seamless throughout the day — a venue we know and love inside out.”
“Lovely little pad for a short stay in WSM. Spotlessly clean all mod cons thank you ☺️”
“Fantastic service, good food and a broad menu. We stopped at this pub on a long walk on Sunday, without a booking. It was very busy so we weren't expecting to get in, but the team spent some time working out comings and goings and managed to find a way to fit us in if we were happy to wait for 15 mins (which was great for us). We had Sunday roasts but the menu included other options, including some game-based options. The food turned up quickly and was good, and the portions were large. The thing that stood out most, though, was the service, which continued to be thoughtful, friendly and efficient throughout.”
“Lovely food well cooked and a good choice at an affordable price.special board always changing.gets busy so it pays to ring first. Staff very friendly Plenty of parking Very clean toilets”
“The Three Kings of Rock and Roll. Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and Elvis. FANTASTIC.”
“This was the 3rd time I've been to this venue with the darts . I live in cwmbran and have been invited to their darts tournaments. I enjoy it there. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is top notch. I would recommend to my family and friends. See you soon for another great day”
“Excellent village hall with very good kitchen facilities.”
“Went for Saturday lunch. Quite a wide choice of food with a different price for each plate size. I had a medium goat curry on the bone with rice for £10. The food was excellent with an authentic Caribbean taste. Highly recommended.”
“I hire the Jubilee Room and kitchen at the Manor Hall to run pop-up restaurant events. I absolutely love it, and so do my customers. The beautiful building has history, charm, and an unpretentious community feel, which suits my needs perfectly. It's incredibly well maintained, and always spotlessly clean. People always remark what a fantastic venue it is. Alison is so helpful and a lovely person to boot. Perfect venue for parties & weddings.”
“We recently had our wedding at The Square Club on 4 October 2025, and it was absolutely perfect! The venue itself is stunning—truly beautiful and unique. Everything ran seamlessly thanks to how incredibly well-organised the team was. A special shoutout to our wedding coordinators, Ellie and Hannah. Their support throughout the entire process was fantastic; they went above and beyond to ensure our day was stress-free and exactly as we envisioned. We genuinely could not have asked for more. The Square Club delivered an unforgettable experience. Highly, highly recommend!”
“Had a brilliant walk around the grounds with a members of our WI. Lovely, perfect day sunny but breezy, plans for blackberry picking abound! Ended with a coffee and cake with super views towards river Severn. Wedding was happening in the house, can't think of a better location for a wedding.”
“Homewood hosted our wedding in August this year (2025) and I couldn’t praise them enough. Lucie, our events manager, was incredible and supported us so much throughout all the planning. The weekend of the wedding, the team were incredible, nothing was too much to ask and they really looked after us and all our guests. It really was the perfect venue for us and we cannot wait to go back each year for our anniversary. Thank you so much Homewood team, you really helped make our wedding day perfect!
