“I cannot recommend Browns Restaurant enough! Absolutely fantastic service- the host was amazing- so attentive. The food was top quality, freshly cooked and excellent value for money. This was a celebration for my Husband’s birthday and Browns went above and beyond to make it special. We are definitely returning very soon!”
“Very nice, The person who took my order was very welcoming and helpful, and I felt very comfortable. I am definitely coming back”

“The food was well prepared and presented. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great evening, and thank you, Mara and team, for your hard work.”
“We went for breakfast with santa and it was lovely! Staff were lovely. Santa was lovely. Atmosphere was lovely. Food was lovely and so reasonably priced! Overall a lovely pub and lovely experience! We've not long moved to the area and will definitely be making lots more visits here!”
“Had a lovely meal with my wife at the Thai Basement in Ashbourne. This had been recommended by our in-laws and it didn’t disappoint. Unlike other local Thai’s, the menu is more catered towards western tastes but the food and service did not disappoint. Would recommend a visit if you’re in the area and would also advise to make a reservation and not just turn up as it gets very busy.”
“Excellent pub, fantastic range of real ales.”
“Very good, tasty and well cooked. They even make their own BBQ sauce for the ribs. Mostly Chinese dishes but some Malay, and few Thai and western style dishes to mix things up. We were asking how they made their roast pork, as we fancied trying to do it for a BBQ, a while later their cook dropped round with the key ingredient we were missing and told us how to do the marinade.”
“Lovely little local, staff friendly and food was great value for money. Ploughman’s board came with big sections of cheese and plenty of extras. Very delicious. Bar man went out of his way to get my mother a coffee and brought it to the table.”
“Wanted to try something new so me and the mrs went to this lovely establishment. Greeted as soon as you walk in, friendly, very welcoming. The food was amazing. Will deffo go again and I recommend this to anyone! Even if you don’t like fish, they have a vegetarian option! Plenty of drinks to choose from. I had the strawberry milk tea with cherry balls and a grape juice with grape balls. My Mrs had chocolate milk tea with chocolate balls. Absolutely unreal!”
“Whenever we come Derby from London we always make sure we stop at Zan Fish, just the tastiest cod/haddock and chips! Love that you can call ahead and get it prepped so you don't have to wait around for long”
“I stopped by GDK on a whim and I’m really glad I did. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and even though it was a bit busy, the staff were still friendly and accommodating. I ordered a wrap meal, and everything from the fries to the meat was fresh and well-seasoned. You can really tell they care about the quality of their food. Definitely one of the better spots for a quick, satisfying bite. I’ll be recommending it to my mates for sure.”
“One of the best steak houses I've been to! We went on a date because we had been highly recommended the place and it definitely did not disappoint. The staff are absolutely wonderful and we are very polite. The food's displays came out still cooking in front of you whilst you ate and the alcoholic drinks were amazing - especially the old fashioned. Lots of variety and everything is high quality. Thank you for a great night!”
“Visited Chennai Dosa on London Road, Derby and had a fantastic experience. The dosa was crispy and full of flavour, the chutneys and sambar were memorable, and the service was friendly and attentive. A great spot for South Indian cuisine — highly recommended!””
“I've had food from this place several times now and it is absolutely beautiful! The best doner meat and fish and chips we've had in a very long time. I didn't think I'd ever like doner meat again, but theirs is gorgeous!!”
“Came across place this place whilst looking for a decent menu for gluten free. And honestly I was not disappointed. From the get go the staff couldn't have been more helpful. First the gluten free menu is one of the best I have seen in a long time, everything from burgers, steaks to chicken, there was starters and even desserts. Once I explained I was both gluten free and dairy free and ordered my food, my starter had some dairy on it the server came to speak to me and altered it to suit my dietary needs. Honestly this is the best place and I will definitely be back.”
“The freshly made breaded haddock is well worth giving a try. A takeaway from the Sitwell Fish Bar is the treat of the week. Give it a try.”
“We love, love, LOVE Lee's Kitchen! The food is always tasty, hot and did I say delicious? The food portions are also generous so you feel you're getting your money's worth. It's why we keep coming back! We recommend everyone looking for a Chinese take away to go there. Note though, it's cash only! So remember to draw cash before you go! There is a cash machine at the Co op up the road.”
“We bought a large portion of chips for £4.50 and there was almost too much for the two of us. Great value for money and friendly staff. Close to the canal so it's convenient for boaters.”
“I had a lamb korma and nan from here. I really enjoyed the curry, it was a good consistency and not too watery or oily. The nan was delicious and larger than a dinner plate. Price was good for the quality.”
“Food us delicious, service is so polite, great for dine in and takeaway”
“Great staff, service was excellent. Food was good and reasonable prices for main dishes although any sides bowls chips, salad, coleslaw, onion rings etc was slightly more expensive at £5 a portion so be wary that can really push you bill up. Breakfast was great value and lots of choices to suit anyone.”
