“Really nice interior, great food, great drinks! The restaurant is very modern and the staff are friendly and attentive. The drinks were great, we tried a few cocktails. In particular all the drinks with mango were amazing, mango margarita wasn't too sweet which is the way I like it. Curries are complex and rich, and the starters are great.”

“Only bobbed by for a quick potato scallop, which came with bits .. bloody amazing. Crispy batter, butter soft potato in the middle , with free bits on top.. rally a meal in itself , but I got one to try and review, and happy i was too. Great value .. absolutely no complaints here worth of 5 stars.”

“Wow..... Food is incredible and amazing service. My steak was so good, cooked to medium and the hake was so well presented. The wine was beautiful but the port was served at the perfect temperature, along with the cheese!”

“My partner and I fancied a late night Thai takeaway and didn’t expect to find anything open, let alone of decent quality. We were so wrong! The service was fast, the curries were absolutely delicious, and they even kindly threw in an extra rice and prawn crackers. The food was all so fresh and the king prawns are to die for. “First time at Canton Chef, we will definitely be back. We fancied a sit down Chinese meal and when we rang a few places to book, Canton Chef answered their phone :) When we got there, parking was easy along the street. Staff are very sweet and attentive. Food was fresh and of good quality, miles apart from the quality you've gotten used to in a typical takeaway. Fluffy light rice, crunchy veg, tender meat - very enjoyable and good value for money. Thank you to the team at Canton Chef, we'll love to visit again :)”

“First time take away with happy chef this evening, and I was very impressed. Delivery time was exactly what they said it would be, the delivery driver was so pleasant and polite. I had the special curry, my son had chicken fried rice and curry sauce, crispy won tons, and shared chips. My curry was the best I've ever had from a Chinese takeaway, great portion and plenty of sauce. Will deffo be using happy chef in future.”

“Took my kids there today for a wander around, happened across this beautiful little cafe and had the opportunity to try some of the best brownies we've ever eaten!! I cannot recommend them enough and the lady who served us was nothing short of delightful, even though it was super close to closing time!”

“Came back in September 2025. Surprise was the mackerel and potatoes stuffed in crumbs which is kind of like a scotch egg but without eggs. The sea bass was a small portion though. Overall, we still live the food and service is great. We ordered four dishes and beer each, cost about £51 in total. Back in 2024: First time we giving a restaurant five stars for food, service and atmosphere. This place changed my perception of Sri Lanka food as my ignorant self thought was only thick curry similar to Indian. The food is top notch, refreshing curry that I finished every drop of, huge hake mallum is just something extraordinary which I've never tasted before. Must order the mallum and king prawn curry. Even the side dish of rice is so soft and fluffy, I am going to ask them where I can get the rice. Service is attentive and friendly, and seating is comfortable, great interior design. I'd go on but best that more people try this place for themselves. Totally worth paying the price. We ordered four tapas, a side and a dessert and we had already overeaten.”

“I went with a friend after we got recommended to try the place. We had the absolute loveliest time. Bella was a wonderful host, very attentive and accommodating for our dietary requirements. The food was spot-on and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere with the mood lighting was intimate and cozy, perfect for a warm bowl of ramen on a winter night.”
