“We sit in with company group of 11 people. The best tikka massala I had ever eaten, not hot, not spicy just sweet as it should be. Appatizer with mix of everything is excellent idea. Really recommend this place, perfect quality. Only the waiter was a bit "too much" talkative and I was a bit tired to him.”

“Martini/The Cottage is a very cozy spot for some Italian food. We’d long been meaning to go in and decided to book in for a table of 6 last night. I like the old building a lot. Low ceilings, nice and warm inside, old architecture meets modern decor. Our food was great. I thought the garlic mushrooms with pancetta and cheese were incredible. Very filling and full of flavour. The veal I had for the main course didn’t disappoint either. Some of the most amazing mashed potatoes I’ve had and some very flavourful meat. I’m very impressed. The prices were very good as well. I expected the final bill to be much more. Lastly, they serve a very good pint of birra moretti in here. We hope to return soon!”

“First visit with the new chef, the food was very good and my husband’s steak was cooked to perfection. Wine selection was good, I had a glass of the Argentinian Malbec which I really enjoyed so of course I had to have a top up. We received a warm friendly welcome from the owner and the bar staff who kindly found us a table as we hadn’t booked. I would recommend booking as the pub was busy which created a good atmosphere. Need to try their Sunday Roast soon.”

“To be completely honest. We found this gem of a pub by pure accident and I am so glad we did. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The food is reasonably priced and also very good quality. I had the fish and chips and the burger and they were both very good sized portions. I will definitely be returning to this pub. The interior was very well maintained. “Great Pub. We initially decided to go because they are dog friendly and that was it. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed the staff are all lovely. Car parking is great, all areas of the inn are clean, bright and comfortable. We went here for New Years Eve and had a great night. The teamwork is fantastic and organised. We didn’t expect much of the food for New Year’s Eve with it just being burgers, scampi chips etc but the burgers were delicious, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Despite not being our nearest pub it is now our new local and well worth the 30 minute walk. The staff and atmosphere make this place. Well done for putting on a great night.”

“We held our wedding reception here in July. Roy and Paula (and the rest of the team!) went over and beyond to make our wedding perfect. Due to various reasons we used the White Hart last minute, and they really were great. Let us in the night before and stayed open until the early hours letting us decorate, let us move around their whole pub to create the atmosphere we wanted, gave us some great drink deals for our reception, helped us with our buffet and really just went over and beyond - Roy even wore a pink tie to match our colour scheme! Thank you so much, really would recommend to anyone wanting to host an event in Shefford.”

“Great village pub with cosy open fires. Seems to be a little short of staff these days but they keep smiling. The manager Mark is always there to welcome you or to say goodbye when you leave even when he's having a beer.”
