“Several weeks ago we ordered a large fridge freezer from John Lewis, we were served by Martin, who was extremely knowledgeable on the product. It was not a stock order and as we were ordering it on a Sunday, Martin was not able to tell me when it could be delivered. He promised that he would call the company the next day and then let me know approximately how long it would be, before it was ready for delivery, direct from Fisher Paykel. During the time we were waiting for the delivery I rang Martin and asked him several questions about installation and size of the cabinet trying to judge whether we would get it through our front door. Every time he said he would do something he always delivered, he went the extra mile putting my mind at rest. He made several calls to me keeping me updated. I have been a customer of John Lewis for many years and have always received excellent service, however I feel that Martin went above and beyond. He is a great ambassador for John Lewis, thank you Martin for all for care and consideration The Fridge freezer was delivered today and Fisher Paykel staff also behaved in a manner that their company should be proud of. The cabinet would not go through our door complete, which meant that they had to take the doors off to get it into the house. This was done with the minimum fuss and they left us with a fully operating fridge freezer, also taking away the packaging. The whole experience from start to finish has been fantastic, thanks to both companies your staff certainly delivered excellent customer service.”

So good to support a local independent business selling quality stylish clothes and accessories made in GB. The boots I really liked are made just up the road by Britain's last traditional work boot maker, and my belt was made just outside London. A really pleasant shopping experience, really great friendly service, chatted for ages! Lovely shop, well worth calling in when in Belper.”

“Called in last Saturday at 2.30pm needing 2 black tie suits, due to being let down with hire suits. The shop was already busy with 2 groups of lads who had made appointments. I explained our situation and was asked to wait if we could and they would get to us asap. We only waited around 10 minutes during which time we were offered a drink. A hour later we had 2 black tie suits, shirts, ties and cufflinks. The service was first class, they know their business, make time to understand your needs and deliver to the highest of standards. Absolutely first class, thank you.”

“Nice shop, very well mannered owner who was able to help me with a hat purchase. I would love to one day change my entire wardrobe to the styles of gentlemen wear that this shop offers because I love the way I look when dressed smart but it is a bit of an oddity in today's world and even the job I do requires casual clothing but one day I will be able to retire and dress like a true gentleman in the way my father used to do. Walking cane and pocket watch will be proudly used daily. I honestly cannot wait.”

“Stay and play at alf&Co on a Tuesday has honestly been the highlight of our week on maternity leave. Kirby and her team are the nicest friendliest people and the whole atmosphere is so lovely. The variety of toys is excellent and they always make sure there are toys for each age group. Having a hot drink included too is such a nice touch. Could not recommend it more. And being on mapperley top there are loads of places to go for lunch after with the other mums and dads. The shop too is gorgeous and we've bought some lovely toys and clothes that are such great quality. If you want a group to go to with baby/toddlers this one is fab. Don't be nervous about going on your own, you'll make friends. It's so relaxed and everyone is lovely. They also have lots of extras like a photographer some weeks, sleep experts another and a pottery lady for some lovely baby footprint Xmas presents. I'm so sad to be going back to work and will really miss this. Iris has LOVED it! Thank you Kirby and Rebecca, you'll never know how much this session helps mums get out of the house and get some much needed interaction. Thank you! Xxx”

“Create your own tracksuit… I ordered a create your own tracksuit and its absolutely amazing. It's one of the most comfortable tracksuits I own. I always order a size larger in tracksuits as I like to be able to move and this has so much room and the leg length is perfect. It's also fantastic to mix and match with other things to make the most out of it :) I let them have full creative power and gave a loose theme they absolutely smashed it. “Very lovely experience. Getting to the store was a wee bit difficult because of lack of advertising, but I'd wager that was done clearly on purpose. No major signage or billboards are really necessary for this type of service. The product is great, and the two Davids who took my measurements were professionals through and through. I even loved the fact that they provided us with a refreshment during the fitting. Great store, great staff, and great product all around.”
