“We enjoyed eating at the Reading Room last night. The whole experience was amazing. It wasn’t our first time there, so I’m happy the standard is consistently high. The food was delicious and looked beautiful. The staff were very professional and although they were always nearby, it didn’t feel awkward. The dinner finished with a really sweet, personal touch - couple of chocolates on a plate with a sign „happy anniversary”. I highly recommend the restaurant.”

“Fantastic experience stopping in for lunch. The OXBO burger was probably the best burger I have eaten recently, the addition of rarebit made for a delicious twist on a conventional cheese burger. Highly recommended. Very friendly and helpful staff. The staff were attentive, but not intrusively so. I felt looked after. The cafe has a lovely calm atmosphere, but not boringly so. There were a few customers in giving it a good vibe, but without being hectic - I didn't wait long for service or for my food to arrive. It would be an ideal place for someone looking to have a working lunch, and there are spaces set out with power outlets for those with busy working schedules. Very conveniently located a few minutes away from Green Park, making for a nice change to eating in the company cafe if you are working nearby.”

The atmosphere felt lively yet relaxed, perfect for a casual outing. We started with a couple of drinks, and the brewery's offerings did not disappoint. Each sip reflected the artistry of small-batch brewing. For food, we opted for a wood-fired mushroom pizza, buttermilk chicken, and classic French fries. The pizza was a revelation, with a crisp, charred crust and fresh toppings that made every bite flavorful. “We found Avanti by accident during a rather soggy few hours at BunkFest. We booked a table, left to enjoy more music and headed back. The welcome and service was excellent despite the business of the evening. The food was absolutely delicious and house red....yum! We don't live in the town but will definitely be back. “Hey! This place is nicely & warmly welcoming. The food is cooked right (beef) and portions are quite large balancing the price. The staff is polite and wouldn’t rush you, altogether in a family atmosphere. Large car park, large beer garden in the back along with some tables out in the front, large tables, large and clean toilets - so overall all quite ‘largely’ impressed. Give it a try!”

“Absolutely wonderful find tucked away near Maidenhead but definitely worth a visit; if you are looking for a standard curry house, there are other good places; if you want a gastronomic experience not to be forgotten, visit this place. “A gem of a place! Beautiful, little cosy restaurant with lovely food and lovely staff. We ordered Nepalese Chicken curry, Fulka Rotis, Chilli Momos and Saag Palak. The food was yum. Everything was very fresh and tasted authentic. We also tried their Gurkha Beer, which was surprisingly smooth and light. The chilli momos could have been a bit more spicy though, but still good. The staff were very warm and welcoming. We had a delightful experience. Definitely recommend.”

It's always spot on and the lovely people working here make sure you are always having a good experience. We asked for substitutions, they've done it. These were perfectly cooked and the sausages were juicy and flavorful. For our main courses, I had the chicken curry and my partner had the steak and ale pie. Both dishes were delicious. The chicken curry was rich and flavorful, and the steak and ale pie was hearty and filling. The service at The Volunteer was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he made sure that we had everything we needed. We also enjoyed the selection of beers on tap. Overall, we had a great experience at The Volunteer. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We would definitely recommend this pub to anyone looking for a great meal in Theale. We can't fault them, from the ease and efficiency of ordering online to the notifications of when it is ready to collect. Our meal was delicious, full of flavour, good portions and great menu choice. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I had the pie with red cabbage and the red cabbage was far too sweet - the same for the gravy with the sausages and mash.
