“Fab visit here on Saturday. Can never get over how fresh the food is! Had my usual order of gyozas and yaki soba and it didn't disappoint. Will be back.”
“Amazing restaurant!! We came here last minute as where we had planned to go was fully booked but I’m so glad we ended up here instead! The servers were so great! Joel was amazing and accommodating to our order changes! The food came out quickly and was so delicious, I’m craving it right now writing this review! We will definitely be back !”
“Always pickup the discounted items for an easy dinner.”
“We walked past the truck and were struck by the absolutely delicious smell of fresh falafel and something on the grill. I stopped immediately and asked my husband if he wanted to try a wrap from Puree. As we were only visiting Reading, I genuinely did not know how delicious the wraps are, and how highly rated the place is. We only took away one falafel and halloumi wrap, but I wish we had ordered more! The wrap was delicious even after our two-hour journey back home (I recommend eating on the spot as it probably would've tasted even better fresh!) The portions are generous here, with more than adequate sauce and fillings. The lady who served us was polite, welcoming and friendly. I also appreciate the Jaffa St. sign displayed on the truck. We will definitely come here again the next time we're in Reading.”
“We popped into Veena's Kitchen on a bit of a whim yesterday evening and can say with confidence it was the best Thai food I've had in years. The starters were tasty (chicken wings & prawn crackers) & the Thai Green Curry was delicious & punchy. My partner had the Pad Gra Phrao which was also very tasty. Service was impeccable & the total bill reasonable. I can highly recommend a visit. We'll be back very soon!”
“First time visiting here, will definitely be back! Delicious food and fantastic service. Can't fault it at all. I had the duck curry and jasmine rice as pictured, and it was lovely!”
“The charming decor and unpretentious atmosphere are just like some of the restaurants I visited in Japan. I have known this restaurant for several years and the quality of food and service has been consistent. I hope it stays open for many more!”
“my favourite cafe ever i’m so lucky to have this locally. amazing amazing food for vegans and second hand vegan friends/family :) it is a little pricey but they don’t skimp out on quality or portion sizes!! all my non-vegan friends love it too❤️we love you vegivores!”
“Wow, what a great meal I had with my brother and his wife. The food is outstanding, it's not licensed, so you can take your own, (or buy it from the store next door) The service, again was great with good advice from the team, definitely worth a visit. The Wednesday night banquet is great value, but you've got to book early and because the portions are generous we had some food to take away as well. Perfect.”
“Can't real fault this place - lovely location in a courtyard off the high street, great staff and very good food. I also had takeaway ice cream in a cone which was delicious. Only grumble would be a better choice of red wine as only two - not a fan of Malbec I went for the the other which did warn it was quite tannin. Maybe look at having a Primovito.”
“Amazing service from Tommy , food was great and well seasoned , all salad was nice and fresh and crispy and desert was delectable. 100% recommend , best kebab in Theale and surrounding areas”
“We had such a lovely experience evening. The food was absolutely delicious — full of flavour and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. We really appreciated the great service and the cosy atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be coming back again. Thanks Faye”
“I stopped in for a light dinner and was not disappointed. Service was on point throughout the meal. The pork cheeks were delightfully tender and the sauce plate-scrapingly good. I added the sticky rice to round out the dish, and this proved to be the perfect accompaniment. The dessert, although tasty, was not what I expected when I ordered a Salted Caramel Soufflé as it was not a soufflé but rather an ice cream sandwich type thing. They should change the description to be more apropos and not disappoint anyone who is waiting for a warm soufflé. (My absolute favourite dessert.)”
“Had a lovely meal at Kazan in Oxford! We tried the octopus and tuna sashimi, seafood gyoza, takoyaki balls, dragon roll sushi, and duck ramen – everything was really fresh and tasty. Service was quick and the staff were super friendly. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes next time. Definitely recommend giving this place a go!”
“Lovely family run restaurant, I’ve been consistently happy with the fish and chips here. Last night they were absolutely out of this world. My kids don’t want to get them from anywhere else.”
“My go to greasy spoon. Good food, warm welcome. Been going there in its various incarnations for 20 years. The latest team are great!”
“Amee's at Basingstoke is absolutely amazing. We unexpectedly found this little gem inside the Honey & Ghee shop in Basingstoke. Ishita the host is really sweet and welcoming. I will say this is one of the best pani puri/ chaat shops in Basingstoke.”
“We drove 20 minutes to try this place and I'm so glad we did! We got the crispy aromatic duck pancakes, sweet and sour chicken balls, crispy shredded beef, special fried rice, noodles and salt and pepper chips. Everything was hot, fresh and tasted incredible! Friendly service upon collecting our order and big portion sizes too. Will definitely be ordering again soon!”
“Absolutely delicious food and the waitress was so helpful. Super accommodating to dietary requirements (gluten free) and offered loads of alternatives. Would recommend as a standalone restaurant, not just if you’re staying there!”
“Our 2nd time to this restaurant, we couldn’t believe how good it was the first time we came, and how quiet it was! This place should be packed to the rafters, there was absolutely nothing that could have been better during our meal. The staff were super friendly and frankly I can’t remember the last time I had onion bhaji’s that were so fresh. Definitely recommended, especially if you are a local :)”
“We happened to be in the area for my husband’s work and was craving homely food and stumbled upon Elai. Being from Kerala ourselves we have to say this has to be the BEST Kerala restaurant we’ve been to in UK ( and we’ve been to many). From the service to the atmosphere to the food authenticity- it was all PERFECT! Would definitely be returning if we’re in the area. 10/10 recommend.”
“Fifth time having a takeaway from Qumin, perfect yet again. 100% consistent... We have just had dinner with some very selective (picky and demanding) friends (Tony M). I have been in the catering industry for most of my life and we didn't have review platforms then, so had to rely on our customers calling us to say thanks. A massive thank you to the team - all of our food was beautiful (especially the king prawn tikka masala / chicken shashlik / onion bhaji) Superb guys, keep it up...”
“Loved the pork belly roast. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The grilled salmon looked good, too.”
“Had an authentic dining experience at this Lebanese place in the heart of Oxford city centre recently. Pictured below is the chicken shawarma bowl, which was a good single serving portion containing a well-balanced mix of vegetables, rice, chicken, and spices. The falafels were also freshly made, filling, and aromatic. The wrap dishes were very flavorful and satisfying as well. They offered a lot of sharing plates, making it an ideal spot for larger groups and family-style dining. Plates may be on the higher end of the price range but there are many options available. There’s also a menu barcode at the table to scan for photo, ingredients, and allergens in each dish, which makes it easy for those who don’t east Lebanese food often to know what each dish contains. The servers were very kind and mindful with allergies - I pointed out we had lactose intolerance and they were careful to recommend what dishes we can have (the chicken shawarma bowl had dollops of yogurt, but if requested can be removed). This place was also nicely decorated and warm, which is pleasant to sit and dine in particularly during cold weathers. Overall a very lovely place for a hearty meal, would be happy to visit again!”
“Went with a group of 11. Inc one celiac and Veggie. 3 had starters and most had several drinks plus main course. Worked out just over £30 per head. Pleasant friendly staff who looked after us well. Would definitely use again/ recommend. Parking can be hit or miss but that's not their fault.”
“Lovely place with a good atmosphere and selection of ales and the usual drinks. The staff are really friendly and the service is great. A simple menu with good variety, well prepared and quick. The gents toilets were by far the nicest I've seen in any pub - clean, smelt fresh, all facilities functional, and nicely decorated. Yes - a well kept and decorated men's pub loo!! Unheard of!”
“I recently visited Itsu, a Japanese restaurant located on Broad Street in Reading, and had an exceptional dining experience. As someone trying Japanese cuisine for the first time, I was thoroughly impressed. We ordered the Veggie Dragon Balls and Korean Stir Fry Noodles, both of which were delicious and beautifully presented. The ambience of the eatery was inviting and comfortable, creating a perfect setting for a relaxed meal. The service was outstanding; the staff were friendly and attentive, offering excellent suggestions that truly enhanced our dining experience. The recommendations provided by our server were spot on, making our meal even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the quality of the sauces, particularly the Soy Sauce Teriyaki, which added a delightful flavor to the dishes. The attention to detail and the high quality of the ingredients used in the food were evident in every bite. Overall, our visit to Itsu was a memorable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore Japanese cuisine. The combination of great food, superb service, and a pleasant atmosphere makes Itsu a must-visit restaurant in Reading.”
“Very kind and efficient staff. Chips fluffy and still crisp, £6 for large chips and curry sauce which was lovely by the way!! We will defo be back again in the future!!”
“The Sunday buffet was the best one I've been to. We have tried a few Sunday buffets in Tilehurst and the food is always luke warm, all the food here was pipping hot and tasted great. Lots of choice. Nann bread was cooked fresh to order. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We will definitely return.”
