“Great hospitality and good selection of beers. Lovely atmosphere with the locals all seeming to know each other but warm and welcoming to me as a first time visitor. The chap behind the bar was keen to tell me about all the beers and the ethos of the place which was interesting. Great NE IPA on keg right now. Next I'm in Mansfield I'll drop in.”
“Friendly, great food, great place to have a drink and great conversation!”
“Love this place and have become a regular not only for a beer but the carvery is excellent. A lovely family run place, staff are amazing and very accommodating. Took my family last month for the first time and we will all be back. All in all a great place to visit”
“Cash only pub, no mobiles, friendly bar stafg”
“Attended a a familys anniversary here yesterday. Was really surprised how friendly and welcoming all staff were. Was a little disappointed that kids had to leave at 7.30pm as we were having a great time.DJ sue was fab really great with kids couldn't do enough for you. Definitely be back.”
“Lovely little real ale 'homemade' gem of a pub.. Apparently built and owned by the guy who runs it - and his dedication shows in bundles. There's a popular quiz night, very well kept beers, a cosy quirky decor and it's dog friendly.. It's not very big though so it can be a bit of a squeeze when it's busy. A couple of small steps and quite a tight doorway entrance, but possible to get a wheelchair in with some assistance + it's not open every day so check the times before setting off. You won't be disappointed!”
“Great pub with reasonable beer prices. Andy & Mandy were brilliant hosts, making us more than welcome. Sunday dinners are a must, best I've had in a long time and will definitely be returning soon to have another one.”
“Just wow! The Blue Bell in Carlton-in-Lindrick never misses. Top-tier service, an unbeatable atmosphere, and food that’s out of this world. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out!”
“Absolutely lovely pub! Landlady and Landlord were so friendly as were the regulars in the pub. Such a gem of a village pub and will definitely come back thanks for being so welcoming! One of the best pubs I’ve ever been to!”
“OMG, I'm still star struck! I can't believe this happened! The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with such unique decor. Gorgeous attention to detail The food is fantastic too, definitely more of a "dirty vegan" experience than a healthy one, which I love. Who doesn't adore a juicy burger? So good! I absolutely loved the satay "chicken" loaded fries, so highly recommend those. The cocktails are also stunning and so well made. I loved the espresso martini. It's made with Guinness, but don't let that put you off! There are lovely views over the river from the restaurant, and it was great to see all the wildflowers. Sadly, there was no sign of the visiting otters. As if that wasn't enough, I was so delighted and shocked to see the owner, Oli Sykes, in there with his family! As much as it killed me, *seriously* killed me, I didn't want to bother him for a selfie as he was enjoying personal time with his family. It just goes to show how good the food must be if he eats there himself! I went on a Sunday and noticed the menu is a bit more limited, which sadly loses them a star for food, but there were still lots of burger and loaded fries options for anyone not wanting the more traditional vegan Sunday roast. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, which just makes the whole experience even better! I also loved how dog friendly it is. I just loved seeing so many gorgeous pooches being made to feel at home here! Absolutely recommend it!”
“Nice selection of beers, wines and spirits. Lovely decor and friendly staff.”
“Lovely micropub with plenty of cask, draft, can and bottled beers to choose from. Sit back and relax outside on the platform and watch the trains and people rush by. Excellent. Friendly staff and good prices. Good range of Bar snacks available. Excellently and sympathetically restored interior of the old station buffet, which before these guys was relegated to a dilapidated store room after the buffet was shut by British Rail in the early 1990's or there abouts. Will certainly be back. *hopefully those screens on the bar are taken down soon as you have to go to the side of them anyway to get the beer or speak properly to the bartender :)”

“Me and my girlfriend were staying nearby for bank holiday weekend and we came across this lovely village pub whilst on a walk. Had really nice indoor and outdoor space and quality pints. The man at the bar was very welcoming and even gave us directions on how to get home as we didn’t know the area well. All around great experience!”

“Thursday 2nd October 2025 This pub not only served 4 impressive hand pumped ales today i had the 5% Abbeydale pilgrim pumpkin ale which was a grand textured and flavoured ale. The staff were friendly and knew there job. The pub is an old pub with the a great bar and small cosy drinking rooms This pub has a propper Irish theme to it and the back ground music was the icing on the cake As such this pub had a good following in today to drink great hand pulled ales and listen to a good Irish themed background music Well done all involved”
