“A real gem of a pub. Had the fortune to be in here when the landlord Steve was able to give the customers a quick history of the pub and his grandmother who ran it for 40 years until she was 80. His rejuvenation of the building is astounding. The attention to detail and historic sympathetic refurbishment is a real nod to the past.”

“I've been here a few times now and I can safely say I'll be calling in many more times whilst I'm working in Shrewsbury. The food is spot on and the strawberry milkshakes are the best I've ever had. “Would recommend this pub if you love a nice content atmosphere, service is amazing and polite. Not too give child friendly! As on remembrance Sunday every year my family all get together too honour all that have fort for our country, especially our dad and brother who thankfully are still here today! But not only was the Owner of the pub at the cenotaph amongst us all, he offered a free port too any old or current soldiers who came in his pub. All in all great atmosphere.”

“We came across this pub after a day an Alton Towers, when we arrived we was greeted with lovely staff and atmosphere. Ordered some drinks and decided to stay for food. Ordered steak which was cooked to perfection. And a pork schnitzel which was full of flavour. Everything came out piping hot. Ordered 2 sausages for my daughter who doesn’t like peas and chips and they reduced the price for this reason. Lovely wine too. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore. Was our first visit and definitely won’t be our last!”

“Went for the first time this week and I've been looking for a good Indian restaurant for a while. I'm veggie, so tried the Paneer Makhani and it was delicious. Unlike other places I've been, this one had plenty of paneer, it was amazing. I had gone to another place and it barely had five cubes, it was ridiculous. I'll definitely return here and I'll order from here, too, in future. Staff were super lovely, too.”

“Excellent pub on the banks of the canal with moorings. Large beer garden with plenty of tables some under cover. Pub with conservatory and room overlooking the canal. Good bar area and Timothy Taylor’s Landlord on draught and very well kept served in a real jug not a straight glass. Food smelt good and menu looked good also. Will be back for dinner one evening.”
