I recently did the Indian Home Cooking class with Farzana Ullah at Food Sorcery in Didsbury and I very much recommend it. I’ve always loved Indian food but I’ve felt pretty intimidated trying to cook it myself; the long ingredient lists, the different spices, and just not knowing which goes into which curry. I usually end up using jars of sauce but this class has definitely changed that. I went on my own (which was a bit out of my comfort zone), and I was instantly made to feel welcome. The layout of the kitchen (two banks of eight cooking stations) is really sociable and I quickly got chatting with some lovely people. It struck me as a brilliant idea for a date too; there were lots of couples there and I think it would be a great Friday night activity. I went on a Sunday afternoon but next time I think I'd bring my partner along and do one of the evening courses. The class was really well organised. All the ingredients were already weighed out which let us focus on learning and cooking. Farzana was a fantastic teacher; calm, clear, patient and so knowledgeable. She guided us step by step and was always happy to come over and give tips or check how things were going. It was obvious she really cared about everyone having a good experience and learning something. One lovely touch was that the staff were happy to accommodate preferences. I asked to swap lamb for chicken in one of the curries and it was no trouble at all. You’re greeted with a free drink when you arrive and you can order more drinks as you go along and just pay at the end, very relaxed and friendly. We got to sit and enjoy some of our food part-way through and again at the end and there was still plenty to take home... my boyfriend was very happy with the leftovers haha! If you’re curious about Indian cooking or just want a fun, interactive foodie experience, I highly recommend this class. I left feeling much more confident and excited to try making curries from scratch at home. A fun bonus: I am now a master of an induction hob :)

Had a fantastic evening cooking Thai food, absolutely delicious! Learned such a lot about Thai food and ingredients. Free drink on arrival but you can buy more from the fully stocked bar. The staff and chefs were on hand throughout the cooking and were really helpful and informative. No washing up either!! Would highly recommend Food Sorcery for a great evening/day out.

A fun and entertaining evening cooking ‘out of our comfort zone’, but delicious, food whilst interacting with 14 other people. One free drink but many more available to purchase whilst cooking and all the hard work removed from us by some very capable and efficient kitchen staff who did all the cleaning, washing up and resupplying while we ate the results of our labours. The only area I’d like to mention that was not 5 star was the sharpness of the utensils. The chopping knives tended to squash the items to be cut / chopped and the zester / grater were equally as dull. Otherwise a good value and fun evening. We will be signing up for others.

What a fantastic experience. Dan the chef and the brilliant support team made for an enjoyable and educational few hours. Every dish was stunning and Dan taught us through every step, to help create beautiful, high end dishes. I’ll be taking all his top tips into my own cooking at home.

Absolutely loved the cooking together steak night! Facilities, staff, chef were all top notch! A brilliant night out, perfect for a date or a fun evening with a friend or family member. Met some lovely people and the food was delicious. Just received the recipes on email too! Will be making it all again for sure and booking another class ASAP!

We had a brilliant evening at the Vietnamese cooking class last week. The chef (Chorchaba) and staff were excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly! The recipes are fancier than we would make at home but not too challenging so you can make them easily again. Chorchaba even gave us all some curry powder and homemade sweet chilli sauce to take home and you get all the recipes via email after the class. I would highly recommend a class at Food Sorcery, it was a really fun way to spend the evening!

What a phenomenal place!! We were a group of 40 on a corporate event from Lush Ltd and we all had an absolute blast doing the evening cookery class (Great Street Feast) and cocktail making! As a large group we were split into groups and half took part in the competitive (and VERY fun) cocktail making competition whilst the others made starters with the help of lots of very qualified and friendly chefs, and then we swapped around. The food was super tasty - everyone had an absolute blast and commented that it was "easily one of the best team events they'd ever taken part in" so can't really praise Mark and his team enough! Thank you so much - I highly recommend for anyone considering doing a corporate event or otherwise as these guys will definitely look after you and you won't regret it!

Went to the Thai cooking course and enjoyed ever single minute of it. The atmosphere was fantastic and the facilities brilliant, the tutor was very engaging and funny which made the whole experience amazing. The food we made up was tasty and the recipes easy to follow. I cannot wait to go again (in September).
